An influencer found out the difficult way that Ferraris and cornfields don't work together.

YouTuber WhistlinDiesel, whose actual name is Cody Detwiler, wanted to film some footage in Waco, Texas on a scorchingly hot day with his $400,000 Ferrari F8.

On the day he and his team walked into a field to test how well the supercar drives, it was a blistering 46C outside.

In the end, not so good.

The team's rented van is shown in the video that was published on YouTube attempting to keep up with the Ferrari as it rushed through an unplanned cornfield.

There was a lot of debris accumulating in the F8's grill and all around its tires as it swerved and twisted through the region.

The words "fire, fire fire" exploded into the air, despite the fact that it appeared to be amusing and like something from an odd commercial.

WhistlinDiesel quickly jumped out of the car as smoke could be seen coming from the Ferrari's engine compartment in the back.

The fire is now too strong for him and his team to put out with water, despite their best efforts.

Things took a turn for the worse when the building fire spread to the rented van and set it ablaze as well.

They had to swiftly remove all of their equipment from the back of the van before they could do anything but wait and hope the cornfield didn't catch fire due to the flames.

"Uh, we f**ked up," WhistlinDiesel said to the camera.

"Well, uh, there goes half a million dollars. I guess, uh, don't drive in a cornfield. I always wanted to have a little bit of fun with that car."

He added: "Hard loss, but I guess I can't say it wasn't going to happen anyways. It's okay guys, we'll recover from this...someday."

In his YouTube video, he said: 'This was a complete accident and I originally intended on filming so many more things with the car, but this was a great lesson to do even more crazy things before your car catches on fire'.

Many people had doubts about the post's credibility, but Cody put them to rest faster than a Ferrari on fire in a cornfield.

“To all the people in the comments saying we’re idiots, or offering their SUPER SMART advice as to what we should’ve done,” he said in the comments section.

“No this wasn’t staged. Anyone who can read human body language can tell this is real. Why would I also burn up a RENTAL van with all of our stuff inside?”

"Sure, I make money destroying things, but I don’t lie. Not everything is a conspiracy.”
