After being famous on social media during the covid period an influencer cut his connections with his family. He claims that until their family members will not be rich and famous like him he will not contact them.
Influencer Refuses To Speak To His Own Family Because They're Not Famous
A 23-year-old influencer with over 400,000 Instagram followers claimed he won't speak to his own family because they aren't famous, not because they have treated him wrong.
Larz said on the Australian radio program Kyle and Jackie O that he essentially cut off his non-famous family when his fan base started to develop rapidly.
"I'm just more famous than everyone and I won't talk to people who aren't unless they get the same amount of followers as me," he told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie "O" Henderson.
The California-based social media star, 23, said that he loves the company of his renowned friends when Henderson questioned him about whether he has felt lonely since cutting ties with his family.
"I do miss them sometimes, but I can talk to Cardi B or someone like that," he said.
Larz continued by saying that until his siblings grow their own social media followings, he plans to keep all nine of them blocked.
He acknowledged that he abandoned them "so long ago" that it was "embarrassing" that some people believe he still interacts with them.
The content producer gained fame in 2020 when he was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with Covid just days after he released a video of himself licking a toilet as part of an odd TikTok craze.
The online celebrity tweeted at the time, "I tested positive for coronavirus." He was also a participant in a challenge that involved kids licking ice cream tubs in supermarkets.
When Larz and another influencer, Bameron Kall, previously appeared on Dr. Phil, they discussed how they had both licked ice cream tubs and spat mouthwash back into the bottle to amuse their fans.
"I don't talk to my family," Larz told Dr. Phil. "They're irrelevant. None of them has followers. If they got followers or got rich, I'd probably talk to them again."
Additionally, he talked about having "lots of money" via paid sponsorship deals, where he posts pictures of expensive cars and famous people.
Ava Louise, a social media influencer who was 21 at the time, made headlines for licking a toilet seat as part of the "coronavirus challenge" around the same time as Larz's toilet-licking scandal.
On her way to Spring Break, she recorded herself licking an airplane toilet seat and claimed she didn't worry about endangering other passengers since the attention she was receiving was worth it.
She was asked, "what the hell" she was thinking when she decided to lick a toilet seat on the way to Spring Break during an appearance on Dr. Phil, to which she replied: "One, I had way dirtier things in my mouth at Spring Break. Two, I bleached [the toilet.] Three, private plane. I flew down on my sugar daddy's plane with my best friend. So really, it wasn't that dirty."
