This has become a time where many parents just pass off their phones and tablets to their small children so they can keep themselves occupied watching YouTube videos. But, do you know what your children are really watching?

While most of us hear children's music playing in the background, most of us do not check each video to be sure that it is safe for our kids to be watching. Usually, we just take a glance at the screen and see some kind of cartoon image and assume that it is ok, but that is not the case in a lot of instances.

A great deal of these videos contain some seriously disturbing images. They can range anywhere from self harm to extremely sexual in nature. Check out some of the stuff we found, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Some channels use popular cartoon characters to mask what is really going on like this cartoon of Mickey Mouse getting his ear cut off with a pair of scissor.

This cartoon shows a baby Spiderman cutting the bathing suit top off of an unsuspecting sunbathing woman.

Seeing our beloved Peppa Pig dressed up like Venom is extremely disturbing making her almost look demonic.

Then there are the videos that exploit our children's fears and terrors.

Many videos clearly exploit children’s visceral fear and repulsion of certain things such as blood, syringes, cutting skin, tarantulas, evil clowns attacking them, etc. Children are horrified by what they are watching yet they cannot look away because the content is engrossing.

This video actually portrays a little girl getting her tummy cut open while the "doctor" pulls out all kinds of strange objects.

Here the Joker is displayed drowning this baby doll in the toilet. Disturbed yet? It gets worse.

Just to be clear, these are not real babies. They are silicone babies that look eerily real with live bugs crawling all over their faces and body. *shivers*

This video tricks a parent by playing the Daddy Finger song all while a baby bear poops all over his family and is then stuck in to a washing machine with clothes to be washed.

Don't even get me started on the amount of videos out there that show clear child abuse. This young lady was forced to keep something in her mouth that obviously tastes disgusting and is recorded even though she bawls her eyes out the whole time.

Here one sister took something out of the toilet and shoved it into her sister's mouth while she is clearly unhappy about it. Wouldn't you be? It makes you wonder how sick and adult has to be to record and post things like this.

And then here are the recommended videos...all I can say is to keep a closer eye on what your kiddos are looking at while they are on YouTube. You never know what they could be getting exposed to.
