For the past few days, the internet was buzzing with rumors that Taylor Swift's most recent song 'All Too Well' is inspired by her short relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal more than a decade ago. However, the actor is here to put a rest to all the rumors and addressing the rumors he said that he is not the one who is addressed in the song in fact it is dedicated to her fans, insisting he does not begrudge the singer-songwriter for releasing it.
Jake Gyllenhaal Finally Has Something To Say Over Ex-Girlfriend Taylor Swift's 'All Too Well'
Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend finally shared his take on his ex-girlfriend's 'All Too Well' track, which fans believe is inspired by their short relationship more than 10 years ago.
In the past few months, the social media users saw Swift expressing excitement over the release of her new album Red (Taylor's Version), which is a re-recording of her original 2012 album titled Red.
A real fan favorite on the original Red album is the track 'All Too Well', and while it never became a single, it did go on to become one of the most popular songs in Swift's catalog.
Now it is rumored by some fans that the song is inspired by the singer's short 3 months relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal at the end of 2010 when he was 29 and she was 20.
However, Gyllenhaal is here to respond to all the buzzing rumors surrounding the recording of the song's extended version, insisting he does not begrudge the singer-songwriter for releasing it.
Speaking with Esquire, he was asked if he had listened to the new Red album, to which he said: “No.”
Talking about the attention the re-released 'All Too Well' track received, Gyllenhaal simply stated: “It has nothing to do with me. It’s about her relationship with her fans. It is her expression. Artists tap into personal experiences for inspiration, and I don’t begrudge anyone that.”
He continued: “At some point, I think it’s important when supporters get unruly that we feel a responsibility to have them be civil and not allow for cyberbullying in one’s name. That begs for a deeper philosophical question.
“Not about any individual, per se, but a conversation that allows us to examine how we can—or should, even—take responsibility for what we put into the world, our contributions into the world. How do we provoke a conversation? We see that in politics. There’s anger and divisiveness, and it’s literally life-threatening in the extreme.”
Reportedly, 'All Too Well' was originally 10 minutes long, however, it had to be cut down to just over five minutes. Now the new version of the song has retained the original parts of the track and those which had to be cut.
Not only this but Swift also made a short film to accompany the new 10-minute version, with Dylan O'Brien playing an older man dating a young woman played by Sadie Sink.
