Jason Kelce was not playing around when it came to defending his brother Travis, showing that when it comes to family, he doesn’t hold back.
Trigger Warning: This article includes footage that features a homophobic slur, which some readers may find upsetting.
Jason Kelce was caught on video breaking a football fan's phone after someone directed a homophobic slur at his brother, Travis.
The retired Philadelphia Eagles player found himself surrounded by a crowd outside Beaver Stadium in State College on Saturday, November 2. The group was filming him and some began to heckle as he passed by.
The encounter escalated quickly when one individual thought it would be a good idea to hurl an offensive and highly inappropriate slur at Jason’s brother, Travis.
And what was the reason behind it?
Because Travis is famously in a relationship with Taylor Swift.
The viral video, shared widely on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows Jason trying to move through the crowd as fans gather around him.
While one man attempted to get his attention for a friendly fist bump, another decided to cross the line by shouting a homophobic slur directed at his brother Travis.
The man said: "Hey, Kelce. How does it feel your brother's a f***** dating Taylor Swift?"
At that moment, Jason turned to confront the group, grabbed a phone out of someone's hand, and smashed it to the ground, leaving everyone watching in stunned silence.
It remains uncertain whether the phone’s owner was the same person who made the offensive comment.
The following footage contains strong language:
Travis and Taylor have been dating since last year, with both of their families growing closer and often attending Travis' games together.
Many people online were quick to show their support for Jason’s reaction, with one user noting: "Jason Kelce proceeded to slam this kid's phone on the ground."
"Looked like a Penn State student was getting in Kelce's face for no reason. Wild scene in State College."
Another commenter wrote: "Play stupid games win stupid prizes."
Someone else shared their thoughts, saying: "Jason Kelce smashes the phone of some homophobic loser to bits after he decided to talk s**t on his brother and Taylor Swift right in front of him."
"What an icon."
Other clips that surfaced provided different perspectives, allowing viewers to clearly see Jason’s expression and the stunned look on the fan’s face.
Jason appeared visibly upset and frustrated, as one might expect in such a situation.
The fan, whose phone was shattered into pieces, looked shocked and surprised by Jason's reaction.
Additional clips circulating on X showed a close-up view of the moment Jason smashed the phone onto the asphalt.
The individual, seen wearing a Penn State hoodie, was featured in various videos as he followed Jason closely and recorded him right before the incident occurred.
Another video shared on X captured the aftermath of Jason smashing the phone, showing the Penn State fan moving through the crowd to retrieve the broken device from the ground.
"Give me my phone, bro," he reportedly said to Jason.
