The 33-year-old star married Cooke Maroney in 2019 at a grand mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.

Their wedding planning was a whirlwind, given that they had only met in the spring of 2018 through a mutual friend, leaving them with just a few months to organize their nuptials.

During an interview with E! News at the Golden Globes, held on December 7th, Lawrence shared her candid memories of her wedding day.

Far from the best day of her life, she described the experience of being a bride as 'awful,' mainly due to the stress involved.

"It's so stressful. You're not having fun. You're just like, 'Is that person having fun?'" she recounted.

"I'll never forget—I was freaking out about the guests being cold," she continued, "and all of my friends were lying they're like, ‘Nobody's cold, nobody's cold, everything's fine, everything's fine.'"

Lawrence's guests included some big names like Adele, Amy Schumer, Emma Stone and Kris Jenner, and despite what her friends were telling her, everything was not fine.

One of her main concerns was ensuring her guests were comfortable.

Despite assurances from friends that everyone was warm enough, Lawrence's mother revealed the chilly truth: "Your grandmother almost died," she told her, highlighting the cold conditions.

The stress wasn't confined to the wedding day alone.

Lawrence also felt the pressure during her rehearsal dinner, particularly about one of her esteemed guests, Robert De Niro.

Upon noticing De Niro, who was relatively a stranger to other guests and appeared out of place, Lawrence felt compelled to intervene.

She explained: "I looked over and I saw Bob, who doesn't know anybody and he's kind of wandering around, and I immediately was like, ‘No, this isn't what he wants to be doing. I don't want him here'.

"So I went over and whispered, I was like, ‘Go home' and he was nice—he like talked to my parents and was polite—but I was like, 'Go.'"

Concerned for his comfort, she discreetly suggested, "Go home," to De Niro, who had been mingling politely with her family.

Following her suggestion, De Niro graciously decided to leave, a decision that Lawrence found comforting.

"That just genuinely made me feel better," the Hunger Games star admitted.

Though her wedding might not have been the blissful day she had hoped for, it did mark the beginning of her journey with Maroney, a journey that has since grown to include their son, Cy.
