Jodie knows all about hard work at a young age 👏
Jodie Foster recently shared her experiences of working with Generation Z in a frank interview with The Guardian.
The acclaimed actress, who began her career at a notably young age, humorously revealed some of the challenges and peculiarities she’s encountered with the newer generation in the entertainment industry.
Foster - known for starting her own illustrious career at a young age - acknowledged that she sometimes finds Generation Z "really annoying," particularly "in the workplace".
She quipped about their laid-back approach to work schedules, saying: "They're like: 'Nah, I'm not feeling it today, I'm gonna come in at 10.30 am."
She also expressed her astonishment at their casual attitude towards communication, particularly in emails.
Foster recounted telling them about the importance of grammar and spelling, only to receive responses like: "Why would I do that, isn't that kind of limiting?'"
Despite the humorous anecdotes, Foster's deeper intention is to offer guidance and mentorship to up-and-coming talents.
She emphasizes the need to learn how to navigate the pressures of the industry while maintaining a sense of calm and balance.
Foster's authority on the subject is undisputed.
Born in 1962, she started acting at a very young age, making her debut as the Coppertone Girl in a TV commercial at just three.
Her talent quickly became apparent, leading her to roles in TV series like "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" and "Gunsmoke."
However, it was her portrayal of Iris in Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver" in 1976, at only 12 years old, that truly launched her into the limelight.
This role earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, making her one of the youngest ever nominees.
Foster's remarkable career trajectory continued as she won her first Oscar for Best Actress at 26 for "The Accused" (1988), followed by a second Oscar for "The Silence of the Lambs."
By the time she was 30, Foster had already secured two Academy Awards, a feat that underscores her extraordinary talent and dedication to her craft.
