Johnny Depp's former attorney has cleared up any rumors about whether or not she was romantically involved with him.

Camille Vasquez, who represented the Pirates of the Caribbean star during his high-profile defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022, became known to many as the trial played out on TV.

As millions tuned in, speculation swirled online about a possible romance between Depp and the US lawyer, adding to the frenzy of interest surrounding the case.

However, despite all the chatter online, Vasquez revealed that she first heard about these rumors from her parents, who were already sure that it wasn’t true.

She has now made it clear that there were definitely no romantic sparks between her and the actor.

In a recent interview with Extra, which was shared on November 1, Vasquez firmly denied any dating claims and added that Depp isn’t even her type.

"I would never," the attorney said, who has also represented stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lopez. "Let me just go on the record here: never dated Johnny Depp. Never would date Johnny Depp. I think he's a lovely person… He's not my type."

And beyond the lack of romantic interest, Vasquez admitted she hasn’t watched many of Depp's movies.

"Maybe Chocolat?" Vasquez mentioned, referring to the 2001 romantic comedy with Judi Dench and Juliette Binoche.

When asked by host Billy Bush if she had at least seen Depp in one of the famous Pirates of the Caribbean movies – which most people have – Vasquez’s answer was surprising.

"Never to this day," she said. "I have not seen him in Pirates."

Even though she hasn’t followed his movies closely, Vasquez did share that she was quite struck by Depp when they met for the first time.

"After maybe 30, 40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out-of-body experience and looking at him and thinking, 'He views the world so differently than I do'," she remembered.

"He definitely uses a different part of his brain. He's such an artist."

Back in September, Depp spoke about how his life had felt like a 'soap opera' following the trial with Heard.

While promoting his second directorial project, Modi, Three Days on the Wing of Madness, he compared his life to that of the artist Amedeo Modigliani. He said: "Each [character] has their story because I'm sure we can say that I've been through number of things here and there."

"Maybe yours didn't turn into a soap opera. I mean, literally, televised."

After the trial, Depp was awarded $15 million, which was later reduced by the court to $10.35 million. On the other side, a separate ruling gave Heard $2 million in damages.
