Julia Fox Explains Why She's Been Celibate For More Than Two Years

Julia Fox recently shared why she has chosen to be celibate, using her own colorful terms, 'closed, shut, sealed,' for the past two years. 

She expressed that she has 'never been better' since making this decision.

Not long after her breakout role in Adam Sandler's 2019 film "Uncut Gems," Julia welcomed her first child, Valentino, with her then-partner Peter Artemiev.

She was rumored to be dating Kanye West following his split from Kim Kardashian.

However, Julia has clarified that she has actually been celibate for over two years, which includes the period during which she was associated with Kanye.

Julia revealed her celibacy in a TikTok comment while reacting to a user's thoughts on a Bumble ad. 

The ad suggested that "A vow of celibacy is not the answer," 

Fox responded: "2.5 years of celibacy and never been better [to be honest]."

This statement followed a video Julia posted in 2022 where she shared that she was no longer interested in pursuing sexual relationships following Valentino's birth in January 2021.

At that time, she confessed that she had spent years trying to make men 'like' her and find her 'desirable or interesting or attractive.' 

Now, she feels she no longer needs that validation.

Julia elaborated on her feelings, saying:

"I used to be so jealous of my friends who didn't need to use their sexuality to get what they wanted. They had rich parents, were well set-up, and had a good education, etc. 

"So I just want to say, like - no hate to the girlies with lots of male followers, I used to be like that too. But now, I'm at a point where I'm like, 'f*** it. I don't give a f***.' 

"Also, I, like, have a kid now so it's like, I did what I was supposed to do by society's standards, my vagine is retired. The doors are closed, shut, sealed after what she went through!"

In an interview with Elle last year, Fox emphasized her desire for solitude, saying: "Like, don't talk to me, don't look at me, don't bother me."

She also compared heterosexual relationships to sex work, stating:

"I feel like knowingly engaging in a heterosexual relationship, you are signing yourself up for an unhealthy dynamic.

At the end of the day, a wife and a [sex worker] are both doing the same thing, but the [sex worker] does it with different men and the wife does it with the same man - they just put a fancy label on it."

Julia's announcement of her 2.5 years of celibacy on TikTok received a lot of positive feedback, with many users sharing their own experiences.
