Kanye West, known for his extravagant and unique choices, has reportedly spent a staggering $850,000 on an experimental dental procedure involving dentures made of palladium and platinum.
This isn't entirely out of character for the artist, who often blends the lines between avant-garde and practicality.
Surprisingly, despite this hefty investment, all of Kanye's natural teeth are still intact.
The procedure involves what's known as 'fixed-prosthodontics,' a project he undertook with the help of medical and dental professionals.
A source shared with Page Six, "They are, as the name suggests, fixed and permanent, but this goes way beyond veneers or grills."
"And his particular implant is quite unlike anything that has been done before."
Kanye worked closely with Dr. Thomas Connelly, also known as the ‘Father of Diamond Dentistry,' who played a crucial role in manufacturing and fitting these unique dentures.
The rapper, boasting 18.7 million followers on Instagram, even showcased his new dental look on his Story, drawing a comparison to the James Bond villain Jaws, famous for his metal teeth.
Dr. Connelly, speaking to the Daily Mail, praised Kanye's involvement in the project.
"Ye was a pleasure to work with at every step of the process. His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression."
"The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic."
This isn't Kanye's first foray into dental modifications.
He famously revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2010 that he replaced all of his bottom teeth with diamonds, stating, "I just thought that diamonds were cooler."
"It’s certain stuff that rock stars are supposed to do."
It seems his creative flair is rubbing off on his daughter, North West.
Recently, North showcased her own dental bling on TikTok, where she often collaborates with her mother, Kim Kardashian.
Her look echoed Kim's 2021 style, featuring teeth adorned with opal and diamonds.
Moreover, a clip of North performing at one of Kanye's concerts surfaced, hinting at her participation in a rap feature for Kanye's upcoming co-album with Ty Dolla Sign titled ‘Vulture’.
With parents like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, North certainly has a wide array of potential career paths ahead of her.
