Although we don't often get to write about snowboarding stories, when we do, they are always wonderful ones. For that one early 2000s Zach Galifianakis snowboarding movie, you can still play the theme tune from Eve 6.

Reddit

This particular Redditor recalled a tale from their youth about how a "Karen," back when they weren't known as "Karens," tried to kick them out of a snowboarding area that was actually public and was owned by the child's relatives. But keep quiet as we munch on some popcorn and watch Karen embarrass herself.

Redditor u/Secret_Life_Shh recently shared a story from when she was just 13 years old about petty vengeance (which might also be partially read as slightly malicious compliance, but I digress).

The OP went snowboarding on a hill that her uncles owned and had legitimately purchased with the intention of keeping it open for everyone to enjoy (everyone being everyone except greedy businesspeople trying to "develop land").

Reddit

Anyway, a crazy The moment Karen arrived, she acted as though the hill were hers.

All of that was done to get rid of anyone who was thought "too big and violent" by the squishy parents who brought their even more squishy children (and allowed them to run rampant doing reprehensible things).

Naturally, this one mom objected to OP snowboarding there and tried to channel Karen to drive OP away.

The mom then called the landowners to ask them to take action and this resulted in a little back and forth between the two that was fueled by rage.

After all, it is their duty if something occurs on their property. She was unaware that the landowners were OP's two uncles.

On their end of the line, they had been informed that there was a "dangerous and disrespectful woman" on the slope, but when they got there, they found only Karen and OP there.

When asked, Karen brought out the OP fairly angrily, calling the child the B word and expecting the owners to intervene. They did, too.

They mention that she is their niece and give Karen the choice of acting properly or leaving. She chose to charge out, tail between her legs.

She vanished without a trace. Neither her children nor her spouse were present to witness this.

“She and a few other parents felt that the ‘big kids’ and adults who were there snowboarding or skiing were a threat to the kids. Now, I’d be lying if I said NOBODY was cursing and there WAS one guy who kept knocking the kids off their sleds and bullying them. But, I kept to myself and stayed out of it. By the time this happened, I was the only one there besides the parents and children. She wanted the hill to herself and I was in the way.”

Reddit

The entitled mother, according to the OP, didn't appear to be a threat at all up until she seized her; at that point, she was barking more frequently than biting.

However, the uncles were already present at that time, so they may have managed.

Reddit

After the incident, the OP claimed that her uncles came up to her to check on her: “They mostly asked if I was alright and if I or my parents wanted charges pressed. (We said ‘No’ because it didn’t go further and she never came back to potentially do worse.)”

“Though we were all shocked that a grown adult tried to claim stake over a public place and someone’s property and that she was OK with her kids potentially destroying equipment worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. (As if she wouldn’t be on the hook for it?)”

Reddit

The OP values her life and snowboarding responsibly, so there are no cool snowboarding tricks in this story (although she did witness a triple flip, which is insanely awesome). However, what is cooler is that the story gained 6,000 upvotes (96% positive) and won a few Reddit awards.

Additionally, the comment area was nothing but amusing. People in the community praised the writing for its humor and praised the OP's response as well as the uncles' decision to remain silent in order to pack a stronger impact.

Reddit

The OP was also very active in the comments, providing more context by mentioning that she also had glasses, a hearing aid, and a speech impediment (which understandably made Karen look worse), and she also explained how her family will always try to be kind and helpful to people, despite adversity, but will rain down fire and brimstone on anyone who goes overboard.
