Keanu Reeves Finally Reveals Which Pill He Took From The Matrix And Fans Are Going Crazy

Keanu Reeves recently shared some interesting details about what he’s kept from the film sets he’s worked on, including the famous movie, The Matrix.

In the first film of the Matrix trilogy, Keanu Reeves plays Neo, who is given a choice between two pills—one red and one blue. 

While fans are well aware of Neo’s choice in the movie, it might come as a surprise that Reeves actually took one of these pills home from the set. 

He has now revealed which one it was.

Last year, Lionsgate took to Reddit’s r/movies thread, letting Reeves answer fan questions directly.

One user asked, "Have you ever stolen anything from a set?"

Keanu Reeves admitted he was given one of the first pills from The Matrix to take home. Warner Bros.

Reeves responded that he hasn’t stolen anything, but he has taken certain items from three of his films. 

He said, "Not stolen… the watch and wedding ring from John Wick, a sword from 47 Ronin, and the first red pill that the Wachowski’s ever gave me."

The Wachowskis are the directors of The Matrix, Lana and Lilly.

Fans of the 1999 action sci-fi movie were quick to react in the comments.

One user commented, "Kind of weird to think about a human being possessing THE red pill, considering how the term has become such a memetic part of internet culture."

Another user added, "Lucky for us Keanu is a benevolent ruler and does not abuse the power of the pill. We are blessed."

A third user noted, "You both took and didn’t take the pill."

Someone else wondered, "I thought the blue pill was supposed to lead you back to the real world. Did Laurence Fishburne get the blue pill?"

Another simply said, "Taking the first red pill is seriously cool."

One user wrote, "It's the Reeves juju. If he keeps a memento from a film he is involved in, the memento starts absorbing all the Keanu magical juju." 

"Then the juju slowly spreads around the world like a mist centered directly from whichever memento he has. "

"Now we, the people of the world, are all enchanted by these magical powers and the movies that he has taken these trinkets from become classics."

In the same Reddit thread, Reeves also discussed a variety of other topics. 

He mentioned that he would definitely "accept the responsibility of being the first to contact" aliens if they visited Earth, asking them how their trip was and if they wanted anything to eat or drink. 

Additionally, he shared a memory about his first pet.

He said, "Yes… the first pet I ever had was a guinea pig named Carrot. I was 5 or 6 years old. He was a cutie-pie."
