Police in St. Louis is looking into a claim that a KFC employee was shot by a customer who was upset that the restaurant was out of corn.
The shooting occurred at the fast food restaurant in the city's Central West End shortly after 6 o'clock on Monday, according to an incident report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said the 25-year-old male employee had been privately taken to the hospital after being shot in the abdomen.
According to investigators, the shooting suspect tried to order something through the drive-through lane of the restaurant.
When he learned that the company was out of corn, he became angry and violent, according to the police. When he pulled up to the drive-thru window, the man was carrying a weapon.
When the injured worker returned to the restaurant after speaking with the driver outside, he claimed to have been shot, according to the police.
The report states that a 56-year-old woman who was also inside the store at the time of the shooting was unharmed. Police didn't receive any further injury reports.
