Khloé Kardashian has faced backlash after revealing that she requested several DNA tests to confirm that her baby boy, Tatum, was indeed fathered by her ex-partner, Tristan Thompson, and not by her brother, Rob Kardashian.

Tatum was born through a surrogate in July 2022, and fans first met him during the premiere of season three of the family’s reality show, "The Kardashians.".

The sweet introduction, however, later took an unexpected turn when Khloé opened up about her paternity doubts.

The controversy began after Khloé made a joking remark about the possibility of her brother being Tatum’s biological father — a comment that fans didn’t find funny.

Speaking on the SHE MD podcast hosted by Dr. Thais Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney, Khloé explained that she had briefly worried there might have been a mix-up at the surrogacy agency.

She said she became suspicious when she noticed that Tatum didn’t look like either her or Tristan, which made her start second-guessing everything about the process.

While on the podcast, Khloé detailed just how far she went to be absolutely certain of her son’s paternity.

"I made Tristan do three DNA tests for Tatum. He was so offended," she revealed, admitting that even Tristan was shocked by her level of concern.

At one point, she even joked, "My son looks just like my brother. Since he was an IVF baby or a surrogate baby, I was like, 'Rob, have you ever donated sperm somewhere?'"

Khloé later laughed about her own paranoia, adding: "In this family, that would not surprise me, but that would be so disgusting."

Despite her playful tone, she admitted that the doubts had genuinely weighed on her mind for a while, even though her doctors repeatedly assured her everything was fine.

"I need to do another one, I need to figure it out," she said, explaining that she still wasn’t ready to let the thought go completely.

Khloé also mentioned how uncanny the resemblance between Tatum and her younger brother Rob was, calling it "freaking weird".

Even her mom, Kris Jenner, and other family members had pointed out the similarities.

The story quickly went viral online, with fans reacting in disbelief to her confession.

One fan responded, "I beg your finest pardon?"

Another posted, "Is this not insane??? No way this is real."

Khloé’s complicated surrogacy journey was made even more emotional when she discovered that Tristan had fathered another child with model Maralee Nichols while they were still together and preparing for their embryo transfer in 2021.

Even so, Khloé described Tristan as a "nice guy," but made it clear that she had no plans to rekindle their relationship, despite continuing to co-parent their two children.

"I'm not sure that there is one thing that hurts more than the other. Everything is an act of betrayal, everything is a lie, everything is manipulation. It's deceit," she revealed during an episode of the show, explaining how betrayed she had felt after learning about Tristan’s infidelity.

According to a report from The Mirror, Maralee Nichols said she believed Tristan was single when they met and thought he was only co-parenting with Khloé, not still in a relationship with her.

Later, in a candid talk with her sister Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick, Khloé opened up about feeling "less connected" from Tatum compared to her bond with her first child, True, who she gave birth to naturally in 2018.

She spoke honestly about how complicated her emotions had been throughout the surrogacy process and how it changed her experience of motherhood.

"I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby, and I take the baby, and then I go to another room, and you're sort of separated. It's such a transactional experience," she said, expressing how strange it felt to welcome a child through surrogacy and then immediately be separated.

Her comments gave fans a glimpse into the emotional reality behind what many assume is an easy alternative to pregnancy.
