Her proud mom admitted that 'tears were shed' after her daughter decided to lose her locks
Kind Hearted Irish Girl Gets First Haircut Ever To Help A Girl She Has Never Met Before

A young Irish schoolgirl has made a dramatic change after she cut off seventeen inches of her hair - all for a kid she's never met before.
After years of battles with her mum to keep her waist-length hair and half-hour blow dries, Aoife Reilly Fox decided to make a change and donate her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation.
The charity works to improve the lives of people living with hair loss and alopecia.
Clodagh Reilly, the Cork schoolgirl's mum, admitted that losing her locks was a massive deal for the fourth class pupil.
She told Evoke: "She had never had it cut before, and we'd have war every year for me just to get her to have a trim."

The generous little girl changed her mind about her hair after watching a clip on Youtube where another girl decided to donate her hair to a three-year-old sick girl - and decided to do the same.
Aoife's mum said that the pair were both in shock and "a couple of tears" were shed after the youngster chopped off 17 inches of hair.
The big hearted schoolgirl was supported by her younger brother Cathal and her cousins during her trip to the salon.

Her proud mum revealed there was one part she was particularly happy about.
She said: "There will be no more drying it now for half an hour, I'll be glad of that."

Since it was established, the Rapunzel Foundation has sponsored 15 Irish people to get wigs - including four children and two teens.
Only untreated or uncoloured hair can be donated, and a minimum of 14 inches is needed per ponytail.
