King Charles joined Queen Camilla and First Lady Brigitte Macron to officially begin the three-day state visit between the UK and France, marking a thousand years of "shared history and culture". They kicked things off with all the expected royal pageantry.

The packed schedule includes a grand welcome at the Royal Dais on Datchet Road in Windsor and a ceremonial salute from both Home Park and the Tower of London, per the Mirror.

Following the formalities, King Charles and Queen Camilla, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales and the visiting French President and First Lady, will take part in a regal carriage procession. They'll be riding through Berkshire down the iconic Long Walk leading to Windsor Castle.

Once inside the castle’s central courtyard, there will be a ceremonial welcome. This will include Camilla, William, Kate, and Brigitte Macron observing as King Charles and President Macron review the Guard of Honour.

After the formal procession and ceremonial duties, the Royals and the French leader are expected to enjoy lunch together in the State Dining Room. Following that, they’ll explore a special exhibition in the Green Drawing Room that highlights French-related pieces from the Royal Collection.

Later in the day, President Macron and his wife will head to London, where they’ll pay tribute at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey. They’ll also tour the Palace of Westminster, where Macron will deliver a speech to parliamentarians gathered in the Royal Gallery.

As part of the visit, the French leader is also expected to meet with members of the UK’s opposition parties at Lancaster House.

However, while the visit has been full of ceremony and tradition, many people online couldn’t help but focus on King Charles’ appearance—specifically his noticeably bloodshot eye.

To calm growing concern, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson quickly addressed the matter. They assured the public that there was "no cause for concern", explaining that the King had developed a burst blood vessel in his right eye overnight, which caused the redness.

They also made sure to clarify that "it is not connected to the King's cancer treatment."

Earlier this year, King Charles provided a health update regarding his experience with cancer.

During a public engagement in Bradford, King Charles accompanied by Queen Camilla visited Impact Hub Yorkshire, an organization that supports socially focused businesses. While there, he met florist Safeena Khan.

Khan, who has her own personal experience as a cancer survivor, gave the monarch a special bouquet inspired by the gardens at his Highgrove residence.

After their chat, Khan told reporters: "He asked me how I was, and I asked him how he was. There were some pleasantries towards the end, but it was a lovely conversation." according to The Mirror.

She also mentioned that the King gave her a friendly "thumbs up" and said, "I'd like to think I'm on the better side (of my cancer journey)"

Although he had a brief setback in March due to temporary side effects that required a short hospital stay, the King has gradually resumed his royal duties. All signs suggest he’s been responding well to treatment and regaining strength.

During the Buckingham Palace garden party held on May 14, he chatted with a young cancer patient, 22-year-old Stamford Collis, and offered a personal look at how he’s managing his condition.

"It's sometimes about the diet and what you eat. It can help," he shared, according to PEOPLE.

Collis, who is undergoing treatment himself while attending Exeter University, added that King Charles also asked about how radiation therapy works and what foods might help during recovery.
