Game of Thrones star, Lena Headey, is very much like Cersei Lannister the character she plays on the show. She's determined and very strong. She's also got a savage streak in her that would make Tywinn Lannister proud as Louis C.K. found out on November 11th. She didn't hold back at all when responding to the comedian's apology for sexual misconduct.
Lena Headey Went Full Cersei Lannister On Louis C.K. And She Couldn't Have Been More Savage
First, let's do a quick recap.
The New York Times ran an expose on November 9th that featured 5 women who came forward publicly to level sexual misconduct allegations towards C.K. The following day, he gave a response that was more of a "sorry you caught me" statement than an apology. Rumors of the comedian being a creepy pervert have been all over the entertainment world for at least the last decade but it was never publicly acknowledged before now.
His statement really wasn't an apology.
C.K. admitted that all of the allegations were true. He went on to say: In “I have been remorseful of my actions.” He repeatedly mentioned how his victims "looked up to" and "admired" him. People were upset with the way his wording implied that his accusers kept quiet for so long because they thought of him as some sort of God of Comedy instead of a peer who could destroy their entire career.
He seems to not understand what consent is.
Others who read his response felt that at the most basic level of humanity, C.K. fails to understand what consent is. They feel that his statement showed a complete lack of regard for the stories told by his victims. Even worse, C.K. is hoping to find some kind of career redemption. Well, Lena Headey has some strong words for him.
Headey was having none of C.K.'s apology.
The Game of Thrones actress went full Cersei on C.K. and his apology. In her tweet, she wrote: “Louis CK. The words you wrote are a shitshow of narcissistic cock soup.”
That wasn't the end of it.
After a Twitter user responded to Headey by asking if she would rather C.K. had made a worse statement. He questioned what more could the embattled comedian do other than apologize? Headey was quick to point out that C.K. never actually apologized. B
C.K. really didn't apologize for anything.
Headey was quick to explain that C.K. didn't apologize at all. All he did was try to write what he thought people would want to hear and attempted to be funny. It's kind of sad that he thinks the way he does. I doubt anyone will see him as funny again.
Once people stop trying to condone this kind of behavior, then things may change.
As I mentioned earlier, it's well known in Hollywood how Louis C.K. would go around whipping his cock out at unsuspecting females. Gawker ran a story in 2012 that detailed how an unnamed comedian forced women to watch him jerk off. C.K. denied that that story was about him but the seeds were sewn. Nobody took them seriously until people came out publicly.
The point I am trying to make is that C.K. doesn't care. He isn't sorry at all. He's only sorry that he finally got caught. His response was more of an excuse than an apology. Headey, who just happens to be one of the numerous women that have been sexually taken advantage of by Harvey Weinstein, just made it a point to tell him she's not going on him or anyone else like him.
And you know what? You shouldn't either.
