Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson team up for a new comedy film that’s set to bring laughter and nostalgia.
Liam Neeson couldn’t help but express his admiration for Pamela Anderson while working together on their latest film, openly sharing that he’s ‘madly in love’ with his co-star.
These seasoned actors are starring in The Naked Gun, a reboot of the beloved comedy originally headlined by Leslie Nielsen.
Neeson steps into the role of Drebin Jr., likely portraying the son of Frank Drebin, Nielsen’s iconic character from the original movie.
This upcoming film is officially the fifth in The Naked Gun series, and it brings together an impressive cast, including Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Liza Koshy, Cody Rhodes, CCH Pounder, and Busta Rhymes.
Shooting for the reboot began earlier this year, and during that time, Neeson and Anderson appear to have developed a genuine admiration for each other’s work and personalities.
In an interview with People Magazine, Neeson shared his sentiments: "With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her. She's just terrific to work with."
"I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film."
Anderson, in return, couldn’t say enough about her co-star, calling Neeson a ‘perfect gentleman’ throughout their time together on set.
She added her own thoughts about Neeson to People: "He brings out the best in you… with respect, kindness and depth of experience. It was an absolute honor to work with him,"
Although he’s diving into comedy, Neeson seems to have some doubts about his knack for humor. Despite his legendary status in Hollywood, even he isn’t immune to self-doubt.
While many fans are certain Neeson will nail the comedic role, he shared a humble perspective, saying: "Whether I can carry it or not, I honestly don't know,"
However, Anderson has no doubts about Neeson’s comedic chops and enjoyed working with him immensely. She fondly reflected on their time on set.
"It was hard to keep a straight face in scenes together,” Anderson said, describing Neeson as a truly ‘humble’ individual.
Though Neeson is excited about taking part in The Naked Gun, he has mixed feelings about the constant stream of Star Wars spin-offs.
Expressing his thoughts on the Star Wars universe’s endless offshoots, Neeson shared his opinion during an interview with Conan O’Brien on Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend: "There's so many movies and spin-offs now I think it's diluting the whole thing, that's my personal thing."
He further explained his stance on autographs, adding: "Occasionally there's kids after a Star Wars autograph and I don't want to give autographs at the airport."
