We often believe that snagging a lottery win is like hitting the jackpot of life, no pun intended.

But for one guy who hit the big time, it's been nothing but trouble.

He won a whopping $1.35 billion, but instead of peace, he's faced lawsuits from his own family who say he promised to share his fortune with them.

This man, who remains anonymous, picked the lucky Mega Millions ticket in Lebanon, Maine, on January 13, 2023.

This win ranks as the fourth largest in US lottery history, with the man set to take home about $500 million after taxes.

His family's attorney claimed he had committed to setting up a million-dollar trust fund and covering his dad's medical bills.

However, the plot thickened as the winner sued his daughter's mother for breaking a non-disclosure agreement when she spilled the beans about his win.

They had apparently agreed to keep the win under wraps until their daughter was 18.

This breach triggered a lawsuit that's still dragging on.

Following that, the man's family decided to take legal action against him too.

In a sworn statement, the winner's father expressed his disappointment:

"I told him 'You are not the son I knew'. He got angry, calling me a dictator, and an a**hole.

"I have not heard from my son since, and he has not done any of the things he promised."

It seems their relationship took a nosedive a month or two after the lottery win.

In a statement submitted with a legal motion against his daughter's mother, the winner confessed:

"I made the mistake of telling my father that I had won the lottery without having him sign a confidentiality agreement. Our relationship deteriorated quickly thereafter.

"I did not tell him what I was doing with my money, how I was going to benefit my daughter, or any facts other than the simple fact that I had won."

Adding to the drama, the man has also accused his daughter's mother of falsely claiming he kidnapped their daughter.

Why would she do that?

It seems she was upset after he refused to finance her vacation with a new boyfriend.

All these troubles really make you wonder if winning the lottery is all it's cracked up to be.

I think I’ll just keep living my normal life, thanks.
