Madonna, the iconic pop sensation who has dominated the music industry for over four decades, has always been known for pushing boundaries and breaking stereotypes. Now, the Material Girl singer seems to have done it again, this time in matters of the heart. Recent reports suggest that Madonna is dating a new flame, none other than Josh Popper, a professional boxer who is 35 years younger than the Queen of Pop herself.
The 'Material Girl' singer Madonna appeared to confirm her relationship with boxer Josh Popper, who is 35 years her junior.
Madonna wore a lace ski mask and sunglasses as she posed with the 29-year-old athlete in a passionate Instagram photo that appeared to confirm their relationship.
Until she made her newest love interest public, the singer of "Papa Don't Preach" had been linked to model Andrew Darnell, 23.
Despite the public post, Popper mirrored Madonna's monochromatic style by wearing a ski mask and an all-black attire.
They were apparently celebrating at a Purim celebration when the photo was shot and afterward shared on social media with the comment, "Killers who are partying."
While this is the first time Madonna appears to have revealed their relationship, the singer has previously raved over Popper in an Instagram story.
She visited his Manhattan-based gym Bredwinners last week and uploaded a selfie with her 19 million followers of herself playfully squeezing his massive bicep.
She also posted a photo of herself pounding a punching bag and commented about 'exceptions' in masculine society while nodding to her new partner.
She wrote: "In a male driven culture, there are always exceptions…Hard to ignore the reality... that most women get demolished."
Wanting to be outdone by his other half, the boxer subsequently posted a photo of himself and the singer at the East Side establishment on social media.
Although the adoring athlete did not mention the artist in the comment, she also uploaded the photo she'd previously shared on her Instagram story.
According to the Daily Mail, Popper had a successful American football career while attending Rowan University in New Jersey.
However, despite his evident potential, he was not destined for the Super Bowl after graduation, as he tried out for two NFL clubs and was turned down.
During the COVID-19 epidemic, he decided to open Breadwinners, an independent gym that teaches boxing and has grown from strength to strength. Indeed, the athlete is said to be training one of Madonna's children.
It's not unexpected given how Popper characterizes the sport on his website, adding that 'boxing isn't just about teaching you to move in the ring but teaching you how to move throughout life'.
