Fans have been applauding Maluma after he stopped mid-performance to address a safety concern
During a recent concert, a surprising moment unfolded when a performer paused his set to speak directly to a mother in the audience who had her baby with her.
Colombian singer and rapper Maluma was in the middle of his three-night residency at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico when the situation caught his attention.
From the stage, he noticed the woman holding her child, which led to a moment that quickly became the talk of the night.
Footage of the exchange has quickly spread across social media, sparking discussions among fans. Many have shown their support for Maluma, praising both his concern and how he handled the situation.
His concern wasn’t about age restrictions for the event, but rather the impact of the loud music on the young child, who appeared to have no proper ear protection.
Addressing the mother directly from the stage, Maluma asked: "With all due respect… how old are they?"
"A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it's a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f****** high? Where the sound is this loud?"
He made it clear that his main worry was the potential harm the high decibel levels could cause to such a young child’s hearing, urging the parent to take the matter seriously.
Maluma went on to say: "Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It's heavy. It's your responsibility. You're waving them around like they're a toy. That baby doesn't want to be there, for real."
"I'm telling you with all love and respect, now that I'm a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware."
Once the clip hit the internet, fans and onlookers began sharing their thoughts, with many taking sides on whether the call-out was necessary.
Some felt it might have been a bit intense to single the mother out in front of the crowd, while others saw it as a responsible move that put safety first.
One social media user wrote: "Ok this is extremely real and responsible of him to do but crazy because he embarrassed that parent on another level."
Another chimed in: "Protecting fans, especially the most vulnerable, should always come before the performance, and he made that crystal clear."
A third person commented: "Good on Maluma for speaking up, protecting a child's safety should come first."
Someone else agreed, adding: "Yikes, that's a tough call but good on Maluma for looking out!"
And one kept it short but supportive, saying: "Respect to him."
