This lockdown has turned people into creative artists. One of those people is Chris Acock, from Portland, Dorset, who picked up an old dodgem off eBay for just £30 ($39) and has now transformed it into a fully-functioning mobility scooter.

The 53-year-old stripped down the motor, installing some new lights and even putting a flag on the rear pole to really give it that wow factor.

Zarra, who works at an electronics company, added: "When Chris told me his plan, I thought it was absolutely marvellous.
"He's modified tractors and lawnmowers before.
"When people first see it, they're in shock because they can't quite believe it. But they then roll down their window for a picture and say, 'That's awesome'."

In total, the engineer spent around £400 ($524) on fixing up the old banger and recently took it out for a spin with his partner Zarra Lea, reaching a top speed of around 8mph.

Chris says that the cool scooter can cover a distance of around 20 miles and people absolutely love it.
He said: "I'm building stuff all the time and it wasn't that difficult to do. We go to the pub and shops and it seems to make people smile."
