The man who suffered terrible injuries in a forklift truck accident and had to have half of his body amputated has been admitted to the hospital once more due to an infection.

Loren Schauers, a young man from Montana, was engaged in a terrible accident in 2019 that caused him to veer off a bridge while operating a forklift truck and plunge 50 feet.

His lower half was crushed and his right arm was totally destroyed when his body got stuck under the vehicle.

After being taken to the hospital, he decided that the only way to preserve his life was to have a hemicorporectomy procedure, which includes amputating everything below the waist.

Prior to the accident, Loren said the following: "I was conscious throughout everything so I actually watched as the forklift fell on top of me and crushed my body.

"Every medical professional I come across is pretty amazed by everything, especially with the story that comes along with my injuries.

"It wasn't a hard choice to have half of my body amputated - it was basically a choice of living or dying.

"With [his partner] Sabia assuring me to stay by my side no matter what and all my immediate family being around me, it really wasn’t a hard choice for me!"

Since the accident, Loren married Sabia, his longtime girlfriend, and the two of them utilize social media to document their lives and spread awareness of what it's like to live with a disability.

Loren said in an Instagram post from earlier this week that he had to go back to the hospital because of a kidney infection.

"Drink water like no other in life,” he wrote. “Yet I'm still needing to be put into the ER for a kidney infection and my body passing a kidney stone. Why does there always have to be some catch?"

Loren was in "considerable pain" last month, according to his wife Sabia, but as always, he was "fighting through it."

She wrote: “Just our Sunday check-in with you all. Unfortunately, Loren is not having a great day, it's a day with considerable pain so no picture of him today. Not every day can be great and wonderful but being the extraordinary guy he is, he's fighting his way through it all. We love you all!"

Despite his injuries, Loren tries to be optimistic and gives advice to those who might experience comparable difficulties, he said: "My best advice to anyone going through something like this is that you can't focus on the things you can't have and you must live your life to the fullest with what you do have."

Loren's unwavering spirit and positive outlook continue to inspire and touch the hearts of those following their journey on social media.

Through their online presence, Loren and Sabia strive to create a supportive community where individuals with disabilities can find encouragement and understanding.

Their honesty and vulnerability have not only shed light on the realities of living with a disability but have also garnered admiration from people around the world.

Despite the challenges, he found love and unwavering support in Sabia, his partner.
