Loren Schauers, a laborer from Wilsall, Montana, said that while some of his friends have offered support, he has mainly been "disappointed" in how they have handled his injury.

In a bizarre event in 2019, Loren's life was drastically altered when he went off a bridge while operating a forklift, falling 50 feet. The 19-year-lower old's body, as well as one of his arms, were crushed when he hit the ground.

Loren almost escaped death after deciding to have a hemicorperectomy, an operation to amputate the whole bottom half of his body. He now posts videos of his post-accident life with his wife Sabia on YouTube, where they have over 540,000 subscribers.

The amputee answered a follower's question on how his pals treated him following the life-altering accident in a recent Q&A.

They asked: "Do your friends still treat you the same way they used to before the accident? Are you happy, surprised, or disappointed by some of them?"

Loren continued, saying that while "a couple of friends came out of the woodworks and have been supportive," others "totally reverted and have been reclusive".

"But it's whatever to me, you know, I got Sabia that's all I need," he added.

Later in the video, the couple continued to discuss how Loren's tragedy had altered their perspective of their relationship.

Only 18 months had passed since they started dating before he was hospitalized. Despite these obstacles, their relationship grew stronger and stronger, and in 2021 they got married.

"Going through this together has strengthened a lot of the aspects of our relationship," Sabia said, adding: "It has made us a lot more appreciative of the little things that we used to take for granted as a couple before."

Before having children of their own, the couple intends to travel the world together. However, they acknowledged that their current way of living is much slower than it once was.

Loren said they have "a very simple life now compared to what it used to be", adding: "There's a lot more laying around than before."
