Man Divorces Wife After Finding Out They’re Expecting A Girl, Says She Did It On Purpose

Every now and then, the internet spills intense stories that will take you on an emotional ride. One such story was shared by a 27-year-old woman who goes by the name KittenDealinMama on Reddit. The author and her husband, who’s one year older, have been married for 4 years. Although she never had any problems with her in-laws, she still didn't get close to them.

One of the reasons was their misogynistic jokes about their firstborn not being accepted in the family if she's a girl because all the other siblings had boys for a firstborn. 

Finally OP and husband started trying for a baby by tracking her cycles because her family has a history of infertility. When she did get pregnant after 3 months both of them were overjoyed.

But her husband wanted a son first so he could be a leader to his siblings and carry the family name. But OP wanted a girl and that's where their desires clashed. 

They would have a playful banter about who will win the bet and were excited for the gender reveal at her scan.

And it was a girl! Though he was disappointed still he was overjoyed for his first kid. And they shared the happy news with their families. But her mother-in-law didn't receive the news well and spoke to her son privately for an hour.

And the next day her husband left her asleep and blocked her number.

When she called his mother she blamed OP for ruining her son's reptutation and tearing the family apart because she's having a girl. And he will be divorcing her!!!

OP was obviously gobsmacked. She tried to explain that it's his chromosomes that decide the gender but the MIL came up with all the superstitious stuff to blame it on her.

She went as low as to tell her that even her sex position was the reason for her having a girl.

OP's husband hasn't contacted her since a month and though she wants to blame her controlling MIL, she can't believe that a grown man can be controlled like that. Now she's asking for advice if she should continue waiting or move on?

So even though his mother convinced him, now he actually did want to go through with the divorce. And was willing to give his kid's full custody to OP. This helped OP to move on and not waste any more efforts on reconciliation.

But she was up for a surprise when her husband's brother's wife called her to inform her that OP's ex and MIL are planning to get full custody.

Obviously, OP was furious considering how they didn't want anything to do with the kid just because she's a girl and now want to take her just to make OP's life miserable.

She also mentioned how her brother-in-law has decided to leave the family dynamic considering he has a daughter of his own and he himself is a firstborn so what if he was a girl.
