Gholamreza Ardeshiri, an Iranian national, claims that he quit eating in June 2006 even though he doesn't feel hungry and only gets his energy from fizzy drinks.
Man Eats Nothing And Has Only Drank Fizzy Drinks 'For Energy' For The Past 17 YEARS
This man claims he hasn't eaten in 17 years and has only consumed carbonated drinks.
Gholamreza Ardeshiri claims he never feels hungry and that the only things that give him energy when he becomes tired are fizzy beverages, such as the Pepsi he can be seen pouring in one photo.
The middle-aged man claimed to have quit eating in June 2006, or roughly 17 years ago, and that he had earned enough money from repairing fiberglass to send both of his children to university.
He reportedly said: "There was no accident that caused the effects and I was not shocked. I still haven't found the reason."
Gholamreza explained how everything got started by stating: "I had a strange feeling, I felt like an object like hair was inside my mouth, I felt that the head of this hair was inside my mouth and the end was inside my stomach, no matter what I did, it was not possible to remove this hair.”
"It was like the hair was tugging in my throat and I felt like I was suffocating, it was so tight that I didn't know what to do. I can't really describe it, but it felt crazy."
The following day, according to Gholamreza, he went to the doctor, saying: "Everyone recommended a different doctor, and the doctors, who could not diagnose my illness, then referred me to their colleagues.”
"I was either in the doctor's office or the hospital from morning to night, but no one could diagnose my illness. There was no hair in my mouth, but the feeling of it was crazy.”
"To get rid of this feeling, I went to every doctor you can think of until a kidney and hematologist said it's better to go to a psychiatrist and they introduced me to one."
He visited numerous doctors, but none of them were able to diagnose anything wrong. Finally, a psychiatrist was recommended by a kidney and hematologist.
Gholamreza reveals that his family avoids eating in his presence because it bothers him. He still does not understand the origin of his illness.
Even with help from the psychiatrist, he still doesn't know the cause of his condition. He also disclosed that he barely gets four hours of sleep per night.
He consumes three liters of carbonated beverages daily. The excessive intake of fizzy drinks has led to a strange set of side effects.
One of the side effects is a notable decrease in the amount of sleep he gets. His decreased sleep duration raises questions about how it can affect his general health and well-being, as getting enough sleep is essential for several physiological and cognitive processes.
