Wheel of Fortune viewers are flocking to social media in stitches over 'the most embarrassing moment of all time' on the game show.
Man Gives Hilariously Awkward Wrong Answer On Wheel Of Fortune Leaving Everyone On Set Shocked
Viewers of "Wheel of Fortune" are buzzing on social media about what they’re calling 'the most embarrassing moment of all time' on the show.
"Wheel of Fortune" is known as a game show, but it's truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
The show consistently delivers some of the most bizarre and hilarious moments on television, ensuring that there's never a dull moment.
The episode from May 23 was no different, and it certainly dropped some jaws.
The contestants, including a man named Tavaris, faced a challenging 'Phrase' puzzle.
The puzzle displayed four blank spaces, followed by a word starting with 'i', another space, then 't', another space, 'e', and the final word starting with 'b', ending with two blank spaces, a 't', and an exclamation mark.
Tavaris hit his buzzer with enthusiasm, and host Pat Sajak prompted him to give his answer.
What came next was something neither the audience in the studio nor those watching at home could have anticipated.
With absolute confidence and without a hint of hesitation, Tavaris blurted out: "Right in the butt!"
The studio fell silent for a moment, then burst into a mix of gasps and awkward laughter, while another contestant could only muster a bewildered "What?!"
Pat Sajak, caught off-guard and slightly bemused, simply replied: "No."
Luckily, another contestant, Blake, chimed in soon after, hitting her buzzer and correctly solving the puzzle with "This is the best!"
Sajak, sounding both relieved and amused, confirmed, "Yeah, that's it."
According to TODAY, Tavaris later apologized to Sajak for his guess, admitting he 'got a little excited'.
While Sajak mentioned they'd try to 'figure out a way to handle [the moment] tastefully,' the incident definitely captured the audience's attention, sending many to social media to share their amusement.
One social media user proclaimed it "The most embarrassing moment of all time."
Yet another viewer commented, "He knew it was wrong and said it anyway. The hero we deserve."
"I think he was proposing to his wife. What a romantic way to do it on TV," joked a third.
A fourth found it simply hilarious: "How hilarious that was!"
And another suggested, "Just give him the money for that answer."
This episode is set to be remembered not only for Tavaris's unforgettable answer but also as part of the lead-up to Pat Sajak's retirement.
After more than 40 years, Sajak will be stepping down as the host of "Wheel of Fortune," with his final episode scheduled for June 7 later this year, and Ryan Seacrest set to take over the reins.
