Man Quits Job, Sells House To Travel In Van With His Cat

Willow the cat was rescued by Rich East who calls himself her official chauffeur, cuddle provider, and snack time attendant.

East adopted Willow from his ex-girlfriend and she soon became his shadow.

"Willow is very sweet and loving. She loves cuddles and is very affectionate. I felt that when a cat is adopted, you have a lifetime responsibility to look after it. So I just made it work."

The two started traveling together in 2015 when East left his hometown of Tasmania.

East had sold all of his belongings, including his house, and quit his job to become a full-time traveler. With everything packed up and sold, there was one thing that he knew he wouldn't be letting go of; little Willow.

The two had already visited all 6 states and 2 territories of Australia by 2017. From the great barrier reef to Queensland, her little paws have left their marks right alongside East’s footprints as the duo made their travels.

East added that he makes sure Willow is safe using a tracking collar that shows him exactly where she is at all times. Willow; a natural adventurer, spends time off her leash and is keen to explore her surroundings.

East loves having his furry little companion along with him through every adventure. The two have settled into this life and dont foresee stopping it anytime soon.

"She's quick to explore our camps when we arrive but you won't see me walking her down the Main Street! She just loves spending time with me outside. People say cats are solitary creatures but I think this is untrue. Willow always wants company."

"But if I want a cuddle I have to choose my times with her. In the morning she will snuggle for hours and I'll hold her like a teddy bear. Love this cat!"
