A person, suspected of being a robber, reportedly held up a woman in Indianapolis with a gun and forced her to add him as a friend on Facebook. Afterward, he messaged her, inviting her to hang out.
Man 'Robs Woman At Gunpoint' Then Demands She Adds Him On Facebook And Asks Her Out
A man allegedly demanded money from a woman at gunpoint before ordering her to add him on Facebook and asking her out on a date.
Amber Beraun claims Damien Boyce asked her on Facebook if she'd like to "chill out" with him and even promised to pay her back for the robbery since she was "pretty."
Perhaps there are more effective ways to meet people than holding them at gunpoint and demanding money if you're looking for a date.
Just a thought, but perhaps that's not the best course of action.
On May 8, a man approached Amber and pulled out a revolver as she was merely checking the mailbox outside her Indianapolis home.
She claimed that after being forced to give him all of her cash, the man asked that she become his Facebook friend and sent her messages saying she was "too pretty to rob" and inviting her to "come chill" with him.
Speaking to WRTV, Amber recalled: "He took [the gun] out of his pocket to show me what was going on — [he said] let me into your house. I did not do that.”
Amber refused to let the man inside the house and handed him about $100 in cash instead. However, the man asked that she add him on Facebook while he was still carrying a gun because it wasn't enough for him.
She obviously agreed.
You're not going to decline, then, are you?
"I thought if maybe I added him on Facebook, he would leave, and he did,” she explained.
However, flirty texts began to arrive, stating that he would reimburse her because she is "pretty."
One such message read: "Look you know I'mma pay you back. It's a f***** up way to meet someone, but d*** you wass to pretty to rob."
Amber responded: "I believe you man.”
“I can tell you're sweet, times just got rough.”
“I know that."
The next message came through: "Come chill with me. I swear I’m not on that type of timing.”
This time, she responded: "I do have a man. You know I can’t do that LOL.”
“I wish you the best tho".
She now claims that the experience makes her feel uncomfortable in her own home.
"He really tried to rob me of my own things, but he took away my sense of safety from my own home," she continued.
"It makes me a little on edge knowing that people walk up and down the street, looking for places to commit crimes.”
“It makes it a little different when you hear noises at night."
Boyce is currently free on a $7,500 bail bond after being accused of robbing someone at gunpoint.
He was also detained on June 12 in connection with another robbery, and he has now been charged with burglary, illegal possession of a firearm, criminal negligence, and battery.
Before barricading himself inside a building, according to police, and eventually surrendering to the SWAT squad, the suspect is said to have shot two individuals and struck another with a brick.
