A man took to Reddit to ask if he was wrong for screaming at his wife for calling his phone multiple times when a fire broke out at his workplace. She called after hearing of casualties on the news.
Man Screams At Wife For Calling When She Thought He Had Died
Thinking someone you love is in danger is enough to shake anyone to their core. In those times, you do whatever you can to make sure they're okay.
Not this Redditor who felt a fire was not big enough of an emergency for his wife to call him and ask if he was doing okay.
He started by saying his place of work doesn't allow phones on site. They are required to place all electronics in a locker which means he is usually unable to be contacted during his shift.
He usually kept his phone on 'Do Not Disturb and his wife had never called enough to have it ring in his locker.
One day however one of the worksites that OP frequents had caught fire. OP luckily, was not scheduled to be there that day.
OP had not known about the fire due to his lack of access to his phone but his wife saw the news on local television. According to the news, the fire had claimed the lives of a few that were in the building.
the wife understandably lost composure and called OPs phone over 20 times trying to get a hold of him to make sure he was okay.
At this time, OP's manager called him into his office to tell him to take care of the calls and reprimanded him for the phone going off.
OP saw the calls and was furious that she had called him at work. When he picked up, she was beside herself with tears.
After saying that he was okay, he screamed at her for calling that many times.
When he got home, his wife was upset by his response and had been sleeping in their daughter's room.
He agreed that yelling was bad but still feels he was right to be angry and even provided a bulleted list as to why.
Commenters were quick to put him in place and tell him that he was the a-hole.
Not only did they call out OP for their cold behavior but also questioned the morals of the boss who considered this worth a citation.
Commenters mostly pointed out that he should have been thankful for how much his wife cared and he decided to react with anger.
