"Manspreading" Redditor Slammed Online For His Entitled Behavior

It's no secret that men and women are built differently and so have slightly different ways in which they handle their bodies. This includes posture while sitting down. One hot-button issue that became prevalent some years ago was the concept of 'manspreading'. This is where a man spreads his knees to the farthest ends to ensure he has space for his *ahem* bits.

This Redditor wondered if he was in the wrong for doing so on a plane. OP was seated in the middle seat between two women. One in the aisle and another in the window seat.

OP said that because of his height he faced difficulty sitting in airplanes and that his knees would dig into the seat in front of him. The lack of legroom and him forgetting to take a walk, made for a particularly deadly combo when he took his flight.

Reddit

The younger of the two occupied the window seat and after half an hour OP found his 'left knee inching to the side'. OP called this 'no-man's-land'.

He also mentioned that his knee may have nudged over further towards the window seat. His rogue knees kept this on for over 2 hours.

That's when the woman in the window seat decided to call over the flight attendant. She angrily asked the attendant to tell OP to keep his leg in his seat.

Reddit

And in true Redditor style, OP heard and understood nothing that came from the woman's mouth except for the three words referencing "his enormous dick". Sure buddy.

The rest was lost 'because she wasn't speaking clearly'.

The flight attendant asked the woman further questions and walked away.

OP, now shocked started apologizing to the woman who refused to speak to him.

OP decided the best course of action then was to look at what she was doing on her phone, which was texting. The woman on the aisle seat kindly offered some space on her end and then went to sleep. The one true hero in this story. Solves problems and goes to sleep.

Reddit

OP not to be deterred, tried to apologize again which she ignored. OP wondered why she didn't just ask him about the knee rather than calling over the flight attendant.

Reddit

OP continued to look into her phone and decided that he couldn't be wrong. There must be something wrong with the woman. Her offenses? Watching TikTok and texting Papi.

OP and the woman then ignored each other, which to us is a 5-star commuting experience.

Reddit

Commenters were quick to call out OP's BS. One commenter who faces the same problem regularly chimed in.

Reddit

Others pointed out OP's phrasing when mentioning the fact his knee was in her space.

Reddit

Others said OP needed to be more mindful of the people around him.

Reddit

Some agreed that the woman could have handled it better but that she was not obligated to.

Reddit

Some also pointed out that calling the flight attendant added a neutral party that could intervene if things got bad and wasn't a bad move on the woman's part.

Another tall traveler said that if OP was that tall, they should have taken appropriate precautions.

Reddit

Another tall traveler wondered if OP would have done the same had there been a man in the window seat. Perhaps his sentient knee would have foregone its territorial nature.

Reddit

Another commenter was baffled why OP would take the middle seat in the first place.

Reddit

One commenter broke it down best as shown in the two following images.
