Mark Ruffalo shared strong criticism of the president and the way he believes global and domestic issues are currently being handled.

January 12 marked this year’s Golden Globe Awards, with celebrities gathering in Los Angeles for the high-profile ceremony held at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

There was plenty for viewers to talk about from the evening, including Jennifer Lawrence’s bold outfit choice, a censored remark from Snoop Dogg, and what some described as an awkward moment between Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.

Away from the red carpet fashion and viral moments, another detail caught attention, with several attendees wearing pins that read “BE GOOD.”

The pins were worn in support of Renee Good, a 37-year-old woman who was fatally shot by an ICE officer in Minneapolis the previous week.

One of the people wearing the pin was Marvel actor Mark Ruffalo, who was asked about its meaning while speaking to reporters on the red carpet.

Speaking to USA Today about the pin, Ruffalo said: "This is for Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered."

As he went on to discuss the current political climate in the US, Vice President JD Vance, and President Donald Trump, the Spotlight star added: "We have a vice president who's lying about what's happening."

"We're in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. [Trump's] telling the world that international law doesn't matter to him."

"The only thing that matters to him is his own morality, but the guy is a convicted felon; a convicted rapist."

"He's a pedophile," the actor continued. "He's the worst human being. If we're relying on this guy's morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we're all in a lot of trouble."

For context, Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts for falsifying business records in May 2024, according to The Independent. That same year, a jury found him liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in 1996 in a civil case, though this did not result in a criminal conviction.

Trump has also never been charged with a sex crime, including pedophilia.

Ruffalo added that the pin also represented people across the United States who he said are currently living in fear, noting that he counts himself among them.

"I love this country. And what I'm seeing here happening is not America," he said as he wrapped up his comments.

Ruffalo was not the only celebrity wearing the pin, with comedian Wanda Sykes also showing her support.

Speaking to Variety about the badge, Sykes said she believes action needs to be taken to “shut this rogue government down.”

"It's awful what they are doing to people," Sykes added during her interview with Variety.

The pins have been backed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which helped organize the campaign alongside Maremoto, Move On, National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Working Families Power.

In a joint statement, the groups explained: "The #BeGood campaign aims to honor Renée Macklin Good and Keith Porter while also reminding us what it means to be good to one another in the face of such horror—to be a good citizen, neighbor, friend, ally and human."

An off-duty ICE officer also fatally shot Keith Porter on December 31 in Northridge, Los Angeles.

Authorities claimed Porter was holding a gun at the time, though his family has disputed this account, according to the Los Angeles Times.
