Married Teacher Caught Grinding On Student At Nightclub Allowed To Keep Her Job
A drunken teacher who was seen kissing and having sex with a 17-year-old student in a nightclub avoided having their name removed from the teaching register.
According to The Daily Record, Ashley McConnell, a physics instructor at Thurso High School in Caithness, Scotland, was married and 30 years old at the time.
The instructor who is married and goes by the name Ashley Swanson struggled with her job for weeks.

In March 2018, she was discovered to have kissed a 17-year-old Thurso High School student in the town's Skinandi nightclub. She was also discovered to have grasped his hand and danced flirtatiously with him.
Additionally, she was charged with touching his groin and bottom.
The General Teaching Council for Scotland, which allowed Miss McConnell to continue her career but gave her a nine-month reprimand, determined that there was insufficient evidence to support the claims that she had touched the student in these areas.

The hearing revealed that the investigation revealed her fitness to teach was impaired.
When other students questioned the teacher's inappropriate behavior that evening at Skinandi's, she continued to hold hands with the teenager and urged them to "f**k off."
McConnell acknowledged to the GTCS panel last month that she drank too much alcohol on a relevant night and was unable to recall everything.

As she testified, she began crying and acknowledged that she remembered being in front of the student.
The GTCS concluded that Miss McConnell would be permitted back in the classroom after hearing seven days' worth of testimony spread out over two months.
In making their decision, the GTCS panel said: "The panel also considered that a reprimand would satisfy the public interest in the particular circumstances of the case.”
"A reprimand appropriately indicated the seriousness of the conduct to the profession and the public and would thus maintain public confidence in teachers and the teaching profession."
Before entering Skinandi's nightclub, Miss McConnell had attended a coworker's 50th birthday dinner and celebration.
Before going to the club, she also went to several pubs where she kept on drinking.
