Miley Cyrus Reveals She Lied To Liam Hemsworth About Her Virginity For Nearly A Decade

Miley Cyrus has come forward with a funny and candid story about lying to her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth about her virginity - one that she kept going for almost a decade.

The two first crossed paths while filming the romantic drama The Last Song back in 2010. Their on-screen chemistry quickly blossomed into a real-life relationship.

At the time, Miley was worried that Hemsworth, who was 19 then, might judge her for being inexperienced. So, she told him she had already lost her virginity to someone else.

"I couldn't think of anyone so I just made somebody up that I knew but we'd never actually had sex before," she admitted.

Speaking on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper, the now 32-year-old pop star shared how she had misled Hemsworth about sleeping with a guy. In reality, she never mentioned the intimate experiences she had already shared with female friends when she was younger.

Miley said she carried this fib with her for nearly a decade until she was finally caught out. The truth surfaced when one of Hemsworth’s friends ended up marrying the guy she had falsely claimed to have slept with.

"So then Hemsworth was like, 'Now my friend is marrying someone you've hooked up with'," Cyrus recalled. "So then ― when I was like 24 ― I had to say that I lied when I was 16."

But that wasn’t the only revelation she made.

She also opened up about her early attractions, explaining that she was interested in girls long before she ever found herself drawn to guys.

Cyrus shared: "I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn't really understand it ― so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me."

"The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl — two of them," she added.

The chart-topping singer also mentioned that these early encounters went well beyond just a kiss. In fact, she explained that she didn’t have sex with a guy until she was 16 years old.

"But I ended up marrying the guy, so that's pretty crazy," she noted.

Though Cyrus and Hemsworth went on to tie the knot in 2018, their marriage didn’t last long.

They ultimately separated less than a year later, with representatives stating they were focusing on themselves and their careers.
