Miley Cyrus says there are 'certain artists' she does see.
Miley Cyrus Reveals Why She Doesn't Socialize With Many Celebrities
Miley Cyrus recently opened up about why she doesn't seem to hang out with other celebrities much.
As the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley has been surrounded by famous people her whole life. Her breakout role as the lead character in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” at the age of 13 only solidified her place in celebrity circles.
Despite pursuing a successful music career and even winning her first Grammy award earlier this year, Miley isn't often seen mingling with other stars.
She recently shared the reason behind this.
Miley's mom, Tish Cyrus, is married to actor Dominic Purcell. Miley herself was married to actor Liam Hemsworth.
However, these days, Miley isn't frequently spotted in celebrity crowds.
In the fifth season of David Letterman's Netflix talk show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which premiered on 12th June, Miley explained she's ‘not very active or a very active part of [her] community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities’.
Why? The ‘Flowers’ singer continued: "It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room."
However, Miley does feel a connection with some artists.
She explained: "There are certain artists like Beyoncé - who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time."
Quality over quantity, right? Indeed, Miley even appeared on Beyoncé's latest album Cowboy Carter.
The singers collaborated on the track ‘II Most Wanted’, and Miley took to her Instagram to thank Queen Bey after the album's release.
Sharing a photo of the album cover, Miley wrote: "I’ve loved Beyoncé since long before I had the opportunity to meet & work with her."
"My admiration runs so much deeper now that I’ve created alongside her.”
“Thank you Beyoncé. You’re everything & more. Love you."
"To everyone who spent time making this song so special thank you from the bottom of my heart."
And it's not just Queen Bey that Miley hangs out with.
Miley recalled her performance of ‘Just Stand Up’ - a song created for the charity Stand Up to Cancer - at Radio City Music Hall in New York in 2008.
She was ‘sandwiched between Rihanna and the Queen Bey’.
Miley said: "And they’re fully grown up, gorgeous, probably similar to my age now. Towering over me, completely stunning.”
“I’m like, super small, have acne, have braces on the back of my teeth, and I’m standing next to Mariah Carey, who is dripping in diamonds. And Beyoncé was so kind to me."
Miley says her friendships today are based on ‘kindness and consistency’, concluding: "So I’m apart of my community in that way but, again, it’s all quality, not quantity."
"I’m not very active in that."
