Terrifying Moment MMA Fighter Left Unconscious After One Of The Wildest UFC Finishes Ever

A video showing one of the most intense knockouts in UFC history has been widely shared online, with many viewers reacting strongly to what happened.

The moment took place during UFC Fight Night 271 in Seattle, where the Women’s Flyweight co-main event quickly became the main talking point after a dramatic and unexpected finish.

American fighter Maycee Barber was left unconscious after a powerful sequence from Mexican fighter Alexa Grasso. The ending has been described as one of the most brutal seen in recent years, and many people have expressed concern after seeing images of Barber lying in the octagon.

Barber, 27, is known as one of the top competitors in women’s MMA, but a clip from the fight shows her being knocked out by a punch in the opening round before being put in a chokehold.

Grasso, 32, continued the attack until the referee had to step in and physically pull her away to stop the hold, as Barber was no longer able to defend herself.

It appeared that Barber may have already been unconscious before she hit the mat. Even then, Grasso maintained the choke as Barber lay on her back during the fight on March 28.

In the moments that followed, Barber could be seen reaching out toward the referee as he separated the fighters. She held onto his legs as he carefully lowered her to the canvas.

The flyweight fighter lay still with her arms spread out and her eyes open, showing no immediate response as medical staff rushed into the cage to assist her.

While Grasso initially celebrated her victory, her reaction shifted as she noticed the situation. She later knelt down nearby as Barber received medical attention.

Medical staff worked with Barber until she regained awareness. She was then able to leave the cage on her own, standing alongside the referee and Grasso as the official result was announced.

The outcome leaves Barber with a professional record of 15 wins and 3 losses. This defeat marks her first loss since February 2021, which also came against Grasso.

Barber had entered the fight on a strong run, having won seven fights in a row since her previous loss to Grasso, but her attempt to even the score did not go as planned.
