A modeling agency has shared why it opted to create an AI influencer instead of hiring real people.

It seems that not only tech companies and adult film industries are tapping into artificial intelligence, but now a modeling agency has joined in.

The Clueless, based in Barcelona and founded in 2023 by Rubén Cruz, has turned to AI to streamline its operations and boost success.

After facing challenges in securing clients and dealing with numerous project delays and cancellations, Cruz realized a major shift was necessary.

"We started analyzing how we were working and realized that many projects were being put on hold or cancelled due to problems beyond our control.

"Often it was the fault of the influencer or model and not due to design issues," he explained to EuroNews.Next.

As a result, the agency decided to eliminate the use of traditional influencers and models and instead created AI versions.

So far, they have developed two AI models, Aitana Lopez and Maia Lima.

Lopez, a fabricated 25-year-old from Barcelona, is portrayed as a "strong and determined woman, independent in her actions and generous in her willingness to help others."

The agency doesn’t stop there—they’ve crafted an extensive backstory for Lopez, detailing her star sign and her passions on their website.

This strategic move has proven lucrative for The Clueless. EuroNews.Next reports that Lopez typically earns about $3,000 a month, with earnings sometimes spiking to as much as $11,000.

But how does an AI model earn this much?

Lopez has become the face of a sports supplement brand and earns approximately $1,000 per advertisement.

Additionally, she utilizes a Fanvue account, a platform similar to OnlyFans.

Lopez also boasts over 100,000 Instagram followers, many of whom don’t realize she’s not a real person.

Cruz shared a quirky anecdote: a "well-known Latin American actor" even reached out to ask her out.

"In the first month, we realized that people follow lives, not images. Since she is not alive, we had to give her a bit of reality so that people could relate to her in some way.

"We had to tell a story," Cruz said, detailing the strategy behind making Lopez relatable.

"A lot of thought" has gone into developing this AI model, and according to Cruz, it has definitely paid off.

He expressed relief at no longer being dependent on human models who can be unpredictable and demanding.

"We did it so that we could make a better living and not be dependent on other people who have egos, who have manias, or who just want to make a lot of money by posing."

Cruz noted that brands have responded positively to this innovative approach, with several requesting their own personalized AI models to represent their values without the hassle of continuity issues associated with human models.

On its website, The Clueless doesn't just identify as an "AI modeling agency."

They describe themselves as "visionaries on a mission to redefine the world of influencers," aiming to "transcend the conventional realm of modeling and lead the way in influencing, ushering in a new era characterized by authenticity, impact, and deep meaning."

So, what do you think about this new direction in the modeling industry?
