Mom Cries When She Understands The Reason Her Little Boy Won't Enter His School

It happens to even the best parents from time to time we are late to drop our kids off at school. But when that happened to Heather Nelson, her son, Royce, didn't rush into the building like the rest of the tardy children he stopped in his tracks and put his hand over his heart instead.

At first, Heather didn't understand what was happening and why Royce wasn't moving, as she explained on her Facebook page.

"I had dropped Royce off in the line. By the time I drove up he was doing this.

I couldn't really tell what he was doing and I was saying, ‘Royce. go, go,' as kids walked around him. Well, he didn't budge and I thought ‘what is this child doing?"

The confused mother didn't hear the Pledge of Allegiance playing over the school's loudspeaker system!

That's when the school police officer signaled to Heather and briefly explained what he son was up to!

"The officer said, ‘Mom, he's doing good! He stopped for the Pledge of Allegiance (and then she puts her hand over her heart to show me) and now he's praying.'

Since they do not have prayer in schools, he says a little prayer silently. I was so proud that he stopped when the Pledge of Allegiance came on and stood his ground and did not move as the other kids were going in. Then [he] took time out to pray and did not even care or think twice about it. This is such a beautiful picture."

After the Pledge of Allegiance was over, Royce continued to say a little prayer, thanking God for the "wonderful day" he was blessed with! Heather couldn't have been more proud of her son at that moment.
