A mom was shocked to find her old friends propsitioning her teenage daughter and her husband for sex at her own daughter in laws baby shower.
Mom Furious After Married Friends Proposition Teenage Daughter To Swing With Them
A mom took to Reddit to ask whether she was in the wrong for cutting off contact with her friend who tried to hook up with their teenage daughter.
She said that she had known about their couple friend's swinger lifestyle even though they had never admitted to it.
She had met this old friend over 7 years ago at a job and had kept in close contact even after her role there had ended.
So when her daughter-in-law's baby shower came along, she extended them an invite as well.
It was in the middle of this baby shower that her teenage daughter came up to her saying that the couple had been hitting on her.
As OP tried to clarify whether there was a misunderstanding but the daughter and her husband felt uncomfortable with the attention they were getting from the couple.
After some awkward and personal compliments, she invited the daughter and her husband over to her place once the party was over.
All doubt went out the window when the husband in the swinger couple upped the flirting with OP's son-in-law.
He then asked directly if he would be comfortable 'swapping' wives. When refused, they kept adding pressure until walking away. Keep in mind, this was happening at a literal baby shower.
OP confronted her friend 'Sarah' over the incident the next day which did not go over so well with Sarah claiming they were all adults.
OP however did not back down considering the timing and the fact that her friend had known her daughter since she was twelve.
Her friend Sarah didn't apologize and accused OP of 'kink-shaming' them. OP blocked her number and cut off all contact.
She however began doubting herself after some friends told her that she overreacted. OP was not convinced but still took to Reddit to hear some of their opinions.
One friend also sent her a message claiming that the couple was 'kind-hearted' and not malicious.
“Hey [my name], I heard about everything that happened with [Sarah and husband] at your daughter-in-law’s baby shower and I’m sorry that [my daughter] felt uncomfortable. But I know [Sarah and husband] are not the kind of people to do that intentionally! [Sarah] has such a kind heart and I want to know how to resolve this because all this fighting is stressing out our friend group.”
Things however escalated when her friend 'Sarah' presumably found the Reddit post and sent OP this incendiary message.
“[My name], I thought that we were over all of this petty drama, but clearly not. How dare you try to slander mine and my husband’s names to our friends!!! No, we’re not some sort of sick pedophiles, your daughter is an adult and you can’t control her sex life! Your excuses for everything are all BULLSHIRT!!!
You know [husband] and I have disabilities…We are both autistic so it makes it hard for us to “read the room” or whatever you’re telling people. But I will lawyer up because I have a friend who is a lawyer and I will sue the hell out of your ass if you keep saying my husband and I are pedophiles. I will apologize to [daughter and bf] for making them uncomfortable if I did, but NEVER to you, you don’t get shit from me!!!”
OP:
“You and your husband are pedophiles, you’ve known [daughter] since she was 12 years old and then you pull that shit! SUE ME!!!”
The comments on Reddit were firmly on OP's side. They pointed out that the issue was not in fact their swinger lifestyle but rather the lack of boundaries the couple seemed to have.
Some also told OP to cut off the friends that thought this behavior was okay.
Others said there were some lines one simply did not cross and this was a major one.
