MIL calls mother an a-hole for altering her baby's body after she had to give one of her twins a medical tattoo in order to tell them apart.
Mom Of Twins Gives Son A ‘Medical Tattoo’ Under The Recommendation Of A Doctor, MIL Freaks Out
Being a new parent is difficult enough but it becomes extremely worrisome when your child has a medical condition. This mom shared a story of how she had to give her child a medical tattoo much to the disapproval of her MIL and wondered if he was wrong for doing so.
She said that she and her husband tried to get pregnant for years until finally having twins after some treatment.
One of her children however was born with a medical condition requiring a shot every month.
When OP went back to work, she left her sons in her MIL's care who managed to administer the injection to the baby when needed.
With the twins looking similar, it was easy to mix them up which is exactly what happened one unfortunate day. The MIL managed to find her mistake in time and rushed them to the hospital.
Thankfully everything was under control and the twins were happily sitting when OP arrived.
Although the threat was minimal, MIL was terrified and decided not to care for the children anymore. This meant they would have to go to daycare.
The daycare nurse however would have even more trouble telling the children apart. That's when the doctor recommended a medical tattoo.
The tattoo was a simple freckle and would fade away after a few years so the couple decided to get the procedure done.
The process was simple and harmless.
When MIL found out, however, she freaked out.
When asked to find the tattoo, however, MIL was unable to point it out. That's when OP made the point that the tattoo was clearly not invasive and completely safe for the baby,
MIL however was still upset at the situation saying OP shouldn't have 'altered their body'.
OP however was of the mind that she did what needed to be done for her child's safety.
Commenters were quick to take OP's side saying it's not like she got a full-sleeve.
Others said this was more of a medical procedure rather than an aesthetic one and OP had nothing to be worried about.
Some pointed out that the baby would love this story when he grows up.
Some joked that they could have gone all out.
Most however were upset with the MIL's take and reaction to the situation
