This Youtube mom is here to share her haul of food supplies that will last her family for 6 to 7 months. Going to Costco early morning, the family does their shopping till 4 and shares that it will probably take them till the night time to store all the food away. Mom shares that even though this is very tiring but all worth it and will save them the hard work for the rest of the year.
Video creator Tabitha Kelley is a mom of five who has shared her huge haul worth $5,635 of food that will supposedly last with her family for the whole 6 months.
For all those out there who dread doing weekly grocery shopping, perhaps take note from Kelley and learn her secret of how she does her food shopping only once or twice a year, stocking up on all those essentials to feed her family for months at a time.
In one of her recent videos, the Michigan mom revealed: “We are a family of seven and we have five kids and this is just what works for us, not everybody would like to make this huge haul in one trip but that’s just how we like to do it.
“We’re hoping about four to six months that this will last us.”
In order to avoid waste, Tabitha continued: “It requires a lot of effort on my part, with organising and meal planning.”
The video then shifts to the family kitchen where the food supplies are stored then and includes food, toiletries, cleaning supplies... well you name it, they’ve got it.
The mom does her shopping from Costco and the stockpile from her recent haul includes six bumper jars of olive oil, a year’s worth of rice, 20 pats of butter and 10 dozen eggs.
Apart from this, the YouTube mom also stocked up on 22 packets of pasta, 95 bags of crisps, 24 chicken breasts as well as enough mince to make at least 15 meals for the family of seven.
However, her task doesn't end here and now she has to manage the storage space too.
Tabitha says: “This Costco haul is like an all-day event. We headed out right away when they opened at 10am right now it’s 4pm and we’re still going.
“By the time I’m done putting everything away it will probably be night time.”
The storage space isn't much of an issue as they have one in their house basement.
However, Tabitha often buys so much food that they’re forced to store items in the hallway, and even the bathroom.
Tabitha added: “We are so grateful that we are able to buy this food for our entire family and feed them for months on end. It’s really worth it even though it takes all day.
“This grocery haul will last my family-of-seven so long, we rarely go out to eat so this is just what we needed.”
