A hidden gem TV show that has a remarkable 90 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes has been hailed as the 'most underrated' series ever.

"Banshee" features an intriguing plot revolving around an ex-convict, portrayed by Antony Starr of "The Boys".

After his release from prison, he adopts the identity of a murdered sheriff who was en route to Banshee, a small town in Pennsylvania's Amish country.

Under the alias Lucas Wood, he navigates life while trying to evade a menacing crime boss known as 'Rabbit,' played by Ben Cross, and simultaneously meting out his own brand of justice.

"Written by acclaimed literary novelists Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, Banshee comes across like the result of an all-night speed-writing jag."

"Its gleeful indulgence in pulp’s conventions - a man with no name, a bad girl trying hard to be good, a sharp-suited villain whose slick words disguise his true evil - is what makes it such fun."

Fans on social media have also shared their admiration for the series.
