We live in a time and age where everyone seems to be obsessed with perfecting their appearance and getting rid of any and all blemishes. Sadly, too many of us spend most of our lives trying to appeal to how other people think we should look. It is a sad fact that the way we look tend to determine how the people around us perceive us. This was the case for 22-year-old Noppajit Monlin who suffered from a twisted jaw that was a severe facial deformity that made it difficult for him to eat and very self-conscious of his appearance.

Noppajit Monlin's face was covered in spots and blemishes that he thought to be severe imperfections and longed for a life where he did not have to worry about what other people thought when they looked upon him.

Monlin, who works in a Thailand factory, says his disfigurement made his co-workers uncomfortable and many did not even try to interact with him. Now that he has had corrective surgery, he no longer looks like the same man. In fact, his appearance change is so drastic that his own mother could not even recognize him. She broke down in tears because she was not prepared for such a huge change in his appearance and said she misses his natural face.

Monlin signed up to be on a popular TV show called "Let Me In Thailand" which is an extreme plastic surgery show that documents total transformations and the people who undergo the surgical changes. The procedure that Monlin underwent fixed his jaw back to where it is supposed to be and had some work done on his forehead and eyelids.

He also received botox injections into his salivary glands to stop his excessive drooling and got major skin treatments in order to clear up all of his facial blemishes. When his mother saw him for the first time after surgery she said, “I really miss him, and I’m not acting.”

Monlin says to his mother, “Mom, do you remember me? Look at me,” to which she replied, “Is it you? Is it really you?”
The surgery was a huge boost to his self-esteem and overall confidence and has definitely changed the way people now look at him. But, he had already found love before he went through this drastic change.

Monlin found love with a 26-year-old transgender woman three years ago on social media, and their relationship has grown ever since. Her name is Tob, and she was also overwhelmed by Monlin's drastic transformation.

“I’m protective of him, but I’m not scared of him leaving me,” Tob admitted. “We’ve trusted each other since the beginning.” The pair met on social media and immediately swapped phone numbers. Just three weeks after finding each other, the couple moved in together.
“She took care of me. Even though she’s not a woman, she’s just like one,” Monlin explained. “This woman is the best for me. Although I have a new life now, my heart is the same.”

Of course, we are not saying that people should feel the need to change their appearance through plastic surgery, but you can see how it could do wonders for a person's self-confidence when they are truly happy with how they look.
