The mother of Salvador Ramos, the boy who shot dead 19 children and two teachers, has claimed that her son was not a violent person. She shared that it was surprising for her to find that her son opened fire in a horrific killing spree at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.

Adriana Reyes admitted that Ramos was a loner who kept to himself and didn't have many friends, however, she refused to make any claims regarding her drug addiction and her son having a toxic relationship with him.

Reportedly, Salvador had left her mother and had gone to live with his grandmother Celia Gonzalez.

Salvador had bought two AR-15 assault rifles, showed them off on social media, and suggested he would commit an atrocity before the deadly attack.

However, Ramos' grandfather shared that the family had no idea about the weapon purchase,

The 74-year-old Rolando Reyes added that if he had known about the weapons, he would have reported his grandson. According to him, Ramos had been a quiet teenager who spent most of his time alone in his room.

"My son wasn't a violent person. I'm surprised by what he did. I pray for those families. I'm praying for all of those innocent children, yes I am. They [the children] had no part in this," Reyes shared in an interview.

"I had a good relationship with him. He kept to himself; he didn't have many friends," she added.

According to the mother, the last time she spoke with his son was last Monday, on his birthday.

"I had a card and a Snoopy stuffed animal to give to him," she said.

"I didn't know he had weapons. If I'd have known, I would have reported it," the boy's grandfather revealed.

"Sometimes I'd take him to work with me. Not all the time, but sometimes. This past year he didn't go to school. He didn't graduate. You would try to tell him but kids nowadays think they know everything. He was very quiet, he didn't talk very much," he added.

The 74-year-old told the media that the boy did not live with his mother because the child and mother had 'problems'.

"He used an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle in the bloodbath Tuesday at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. He had legally bought two such rifles just days before, soon after his birthday," authorities said.

Lt Christopher Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that all of those killed were in the same fourth-grade classroom.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced that the boy had no criminal or mental health history.

"Evil swept across Uvalde yesterday. Anyone who shoots his grandmother in the face has to have evil in his heart. But it is far more evil for someone to gun down little kids. It is intolerable and it is unacceptable for us to have in the state anybody who would kill little kids in our schools," Abbott said during a news conference.
