MrBeast has opened up about how little money he keeps in his personal bank account, even though his name is often linked with billionaire-level wealth.

From building extreme challenge videos to recreating massive real-world versions of shows like Squid Game, Jimmy Donaldson has grown into one of the most recognizable creators on the internet.

That rise has helped push his estimated net worth into the billions, with reports suggesting his combined ventures and brands place his value well above $2.6 billion.

Beyond YouTube, Donaldson has built multiple large businesses, including MrBeast Burger, a chocolate brand, packaged food products, and a major streaming deal with Amazon Prime Video, which recently released a new season.

According to Fortune, those projects together could be worth as much as $5 billion, reflecting the scale of his media and food empire.

Even with all of that success, MrBeast says he personally keeps very little cash on hand and has even had to borrow money at times.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal earlier this year, Donaldson said people rarely believe him when he talks about his personal finances.

He explained that if you separate the value of his companies from his actual cash, the picture looks very different from what most people imagine.

By his own account, once business equity is taken out of the equation, his personal bank balance can be so low that it would not even cover a quick breakfast run.

Addressing the constant talk around his wealth, Donaldson said: "That's net worth. I have negative money right now."

Unlike most people who would panic in that situation, he made it clear that he is not worried about having little money sitting in his account.

He explained his mindset like this: "I wake up, I just work…I'm just so busy working I don't really think about my personal bank account."

"I'm just laser-focused on making the greatest videos as possible, and building the business as big as possible."

This is not the first time MrBeast has tried to clarify how his finances actually work behind the scenes.

In May last year, Dexerto shared a post highlighting him as the only billionaire under 30 who did not inherit his wealth.

MrBeast responded directly in the comments, adding: "I personally have very little money because I reinvest everything (I think this year we'll spend around a quarter of a billion on content). Ironically i'm actually borrowing $ from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol."

He followed that up by acknowledging that while his personal cash is limited, the businesses themselves still carry enormous value, saying: "But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot."
