New Mum 'Died After Taking Cocaine' On First Night Out After Giving Birth
A UK court has heard that a young mother passed away after consuming cocaine on her first night out after giving birth.
After partying with her sister-in-law and two guys they met at a nearby pub, Becky Tollan, 23, passed away at a home in Lanarkshire, Scotland, on July 15, 2019.
The two men, Martin Stewart, 34, and Barry McAuley, 40, have been charged with culpable homicide after it was claimed they gave Tollan the Class A drug.

Wednesday marked the start of the pair's trial, and Pamela Tollan, the defendants' sister-in-law, testified to recount the awful death of the brunette.
“Becky started shaking,” Pamela emotionally told the court, according to the Mirror. “I just thought she was cold to start with. I was saying: ‘What is happening to her?’ I was shouting: ‘Becky! Becky!’ “
On the evening of July 14, according to Pamela, she and Tollan went to a bar. The new mother was eager for her first social outing since giving birth to a newborn boy only a few weeks earlier.

When two drinks that McAuley and Stewart allegedly ordered for them arrived, the two were seated by themselves at a table.
The women then approached the two males to chat and soon joined them in the bar. Tollan then inquired of the men if they had any "stuff," according to Pamela, who testified in court.
“I knew exactly what she meant … asking if they had any cocaine,” the devastated sister-in-law stated.

Before Tollan allegedly used the substance in the bathroom, one of the men apparently produced a "wee bag" of it. Later, the party moved to a nearby house, where the new mother is said to have consumed more cocaine.
“Becky was her own person. No matter how much you told her, she would not listen,” Pamela declared. “I did tell her: ‘You do not need it … you are having a good time. I told her to stop because you do not need it.”
Pamela and Tollan had spent some time at the house and were about to depart when the new mother suddenly started shaking and having fits.

According to Pamela, Stewart, one of the guys charged with giving the cocaine, inquired about Tollan's alleged "epilepsy."
"I refused. Pamela recalled that Tollan was "constantly" fitting and bleeding from the lips after biting her own tongue. He put her in the recovery position," she said.
Emergency services were summoned to the residence, but they were unable to revive the young mother, who was pronounced dead on July 15.

Pamela testified in court that her sister-in-law did not use drugs or alcohol when she was pregnant and that she may have experienced physical exhaustion on her first night out after giving birth.
Both McAuley and Stewart have entered not-guilty pleas to the allegation of culpable homicide. The trial goes on.
