Nicki Minaj is upset over a deep fake video with Tom Holland and wants the internet deleted. The "Deep Fake Neighbour Wars" show includes Mark Zuckerberg, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Idris Elba, and Greta Thunberg in fake scenarios.
Nicki Minaj Wants To Delete ‘Whole Internet’ After Seeing Deepfake Video Of Her And Tom Holland
After witnessing a deepfake video of her and Tom Holland, Nicki Minaj declared that she wanted to delete the "whole internet."
You may have noticed a false viral video going around that purports to show Minaj, 40, allegedly living with Holland, 27, despite the fact that she is married to Kenny Petty, whom she married in 2019.
Holland, who is dressed in a tropical shirt and matching shorts, states in the weird tape, "We just got back from our honeymoon."
“Our homecoming.”
Then, Minaj, who is also dressed similarly, says: “Tom drops his bags, and then I started following right behind him like this.”
She sways back and forth while Holland continues: “First thing I noticed was this horrible sort of boiled egg smell. Ugh.”
Minaj stated that they began to enter their house to investigate a mysterious smell when they unexpectedly discovered an individual lying on their sofa. Surprisingly, the intruder turned out to be none other than their next-door neighbor, Mark Zuckerberg, who had somehow found his way into their home.
The scene then shifts to Holland and Minaj, now newlyweds, seated on a sofa wearing matching pink tracksuits.
“It was so strange,” Holland says.
“I’d not said more than ‘Hi’ or ‘Hello’ to this bloke. Now he’s on my bloody sofa.”
Of course, the weird interview is a deep fake, which alarmed Minaj just as much as it alarmed us.
She tweeted her thoughts in response to the footage: “HELP!!! What in the AI shapeshifting cloning conspiracy theory is this?!?!!
“I hope the whole internet gets deleted!!!”
The video was produced for the ITVX show Deep Fake Neighbour Wars, which debuted earlier this year in the UK and just appeared on the Australian TV network SBS Viceland.
The six-part series, which was created by Tiger Aspect, a division of Banijay UK, was marketed as "the world's first long-form narrative show that uses Deep Fake technology" and had as its central conceit famous celebrities involved in minor neighbor disputes.
“It uses the very latest in AI technology to turn the UK's best new impressionists into the world's most famous celebrities – only here they are, ordinary people, who happen to be embroiled in petty silly neighbor disputes,” a press release from ITV said.
Other famous people who were profound fakes, in addition to Minaj, Holland, and Zuckerberg, included Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Idris Elba, and Greta Thunberg.
As deepfake technology advances, its potential for both entertainment and deception becomes increasingly evident. The ability to manipulate digital content to portray individuals in fictional scenarios raises serious concerns about the potential misuse of such technology.
