Nicole Kidman has now taken the official step of filing for divorce from Keith Urban, and in doing so, she has made a significant request that has caught attention.

According to a report from TMZ on Tuesday, September 30, the longtime couple — who first got married in 2006 — have actually been separated since the beginning of the summer.

One source, who spoke anonymously to the outlet, claimed that Kidman, now 58, has been the one 'holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone'. This detail was later confirmed by the BBC.

Reports also noted that Urban, 57, has moved out of their family residence and purchased his own home in Nashville following the split.

Now, fresh court documents obtained by People reveal that Kidman has requested to be named the primary residential parent of the couple’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

If approved, the agreement would give Kidman 306 days with the children each year, while Urban would spend 59 days caring for them. It’s said Urban has agreed to these terms.

The documents also detail that the pair already have a child support arrangement, with Urban having prepaid all of his financial obligations for their daughters.

In addition, both Kidman and Urban have agreed to a non-disparagement clause, meaning they will not speak negatively about one another or their families in public. They also pledged to encourage their daughters to maintain a strong and loving relationship with both parents, regardless of the divorce.

As part of the process, both stars are also required to attend a parenting seminar within 60 days of filing, according to People.

The outlet further reported that Kidman signed the divorce documents on September 6, while Urban had signed his portion earlier on August 29.

Although the specific reasons behind the separation remain unknown, reports recall that back in July, the country singer allegedly hung up during a live interview on Mix 102.3, an Australian radio station. The hosts, Hayley Pearson and Max Burford, were interviewing Urban on their morning program when the awkward moment occurred.

For that segment, Burford asked: "What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?"

The call suddenly went silent, cutting the conversation short in what appeared to be a hang-up.

One of the producers later remarked: "I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question,"

However, a different source clarified the situation in a statement to People, insisting: "Keith did not hang up, period… He doesn't host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger."
