The two are said to be staying in different homes around Nashville, Tennessee, though one of them still hopes their relationship can be saved
Nicole Kidman and country star Keith Urban have reportedly gone their separate ways after almost twenty years of marriage together.
The Academy Award-winning actress has separated from the 57-year-old musician, with sources telling TMZ that the split has been in place since the early part of the summer.
Insiders also shared that Kidman has been holding on to hope that the marriage can be repaired, with reports suggesting that she did not want things to end.
The longtime couple share two daughters, 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Faith Margaret, after getting married back in 2006.
According to one source who spoke anonymously to the outlet, Kidman has been “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone,” a sentiment that was later confirmed by the BBC.
It was also noted that Urban has acquired a separate property in Nashville and moved out of the family’s shared residence, which is also located in the Tennessee city.

Reports suggest the two have been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”
While the reasons behind their separation remain unclear, one moment in July drew attention when Urban abruptly ended an interview. He was appearing as a guest on Mix 102.3, an Australian radio station, with hosts Hayley Pearson and Max Burford when the call was suddenly cut short.
During the chat, Burford brought up Kidman’s latest project, the Netflix movie A Family Affair, and remarked: "When I was coming up with something to ask you, Keith Urban, if you happen to play this game, the first thing I thought of, with your beautiful wife Nicole Kidman being on so many great movies, TV shows all the time… I watched a movie with her and Zac Efron recently, A Family Affair."
For the sake of the segment, Burford then asked: "What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?"
Urban’s line suddenly went quiet, ending the conversation without warning.
Later, one of the radio producers confirmed the call had been disconnected, saying: "I think his team hung up on us because they didn't want us to ask that question."
A Family Affair was just one of two intimate films Kidman filmed last year with younger costars, where she appeared topless in scenes. The other was Babygirl, an erotic thriller that also involved steamy on-screen encounters.
In Babygirl, the Hawaii-born actress portrayed Romy, who engages in a complex and sensual storyline with Samuel, a character played by Harris Dickinson.
Kidman later admitted during a press conference that filming these long and intense sex scenes often left her feeling drained, especially because the directors insisted on radically long takes that pushed her endurance.
Speaking to The Sun, she shared: "There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration. It's like, 'Don't touch me'."
"There were times when we were shooting where I was like, 'I don't want to orgasm anymore'."
"Don't come near me. I hate doing this. I don't care if I am never touched again in my life! I'm over it."
"It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout."
