Noah Cyrus, the Grammy-nominated singer and younger sister of pop star Miley Cyrus, has finally spoken out about the constant rumors of a family feud that have surrounded her in recent years.

The speculation really began heating up after her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, decided to end their decades-long marriage.

The couple announced their split in 2022. Not long after, Billy Ray tied the knot with singer Firerose in what became a short-lived marriage, while Tish found love again and married Dominic Purcell, best known for his role in Prison Break.

After these major life changes, fans began speculating that there were tensions in the family. This gossip only intensified when Miley was noticeably absent from Billy Ray’s wedding to Firerose, though she later showed up at Tish’s ceremony with Purcell, which many took as a sign of division.

The chatter didn’t stop there. When Miley accepted her Grammy Award in 2024, she left her father’s name out of her speech. Instead, she gave thanks to her mom Tish, her sister Brandi, and her boyfriend Maxx Morando, which sparked even more talk about strained relationships behind the scenes.

Amid all the swirling rumors, Noah has now directly addressed the subject. In an interview with People, she admitted that she tries her best not to get caught up in the back-and-forth.

"I keep myself quite separated from any interest or 'drama' with the family," she explained. "The one thing that's connected us with the entire world is music, and that's what's the most important to us."

"Yeah, it emotionally is draining, but it doesn't hurt us or touch us. It's something that you really learn to keep separate and far away from yourself."

Noah was quick to reassure fans and the public that the family is actually in a good place. She emphasized that, despite what people might assume, “everybody's great and loves each other.”

She also underlined the fact that at the end of the day, no matter how public their lives are, they are still just a family dealing with life like anyone else. As she put it: "I think when you grow up with that being normal — things being public — that it doesn't quite reach you. At the end of the day, this is a family, and that's really it: just going through normal family stuff."

Noah’s latest album, titled I Want My Loved Ones to Go with Me, dives into some very personal themes and includes direct nods to her family. One of the standout lyrics even reads: "The words that were spoken / Mean nothing to me."

"I think that really sums up a relationship with a sibling," she reflected. "There's so many times, especially in my relationship with my siblings growing up, you fight and you say things — but that's your family, and they're always going to be there for you, and I'm lucky enough to say that that's been my case with me and my siblings and my family."

The album also weaves in a powerful sense of legacy. For example, one track samples a hymn written by her great-grandfather and performed by her paternal grandfather. Another piece features the very first song her dad, Billy Ray, ever wrote, tying together multiple generations of her family through music.

"It really was beautiful to have that bloodline [running] through the record," Noah said, highlighting how deeply meaningful it felt to bring that kind of history and connection into her record.
